How to use FL Studio How to get a sidechain effect with GrossBeat

I'm yosi, the caretaker of Chillout with Beats.

I forgot one more thing in the side chain story, so I will write it.

You can also get a sidechain effect with GrossBeat.

For the time being, there are many omissions, but I made a demo video.

Since it is switched by MIDI note and it switches instantly, it is also possible to use the layer function described in the previous article, for example, to trigger at the same time as Kick.

However, if the same MIDI note is used, it will not be re-triggered, so it is necessary to change the MIDI note each time.

The advantages of getting the sidechain effect with GrossBeat are as follows.

・ Simple and MIDI note switching is possible
・ It is also possible to add a stutter effect
・ Easy to edit the volume curve to get the side chain effect

First, make Gross Beat switchable with MIDI notes.

Please refer to it as it is written in the following article.

Now it works as follows.

However, if this is left as it is, the preset will not switch until one bar is played.

Therefore, change the Gross Beat setting.

Change both "TRIG SYNC" and "POS SYNC" in the lower right to "OFF".

Now it switches the moment you press the keyboard.

This change must be made on all slots.

For example, suppose you use the following three slots.

In that case, change both "TRIG SYNC" and "POS SYNC" to "OFF" in all slots.

If you want to use it to get the sidechain effect, after typing Kick, copy Kick's MIDI notes to the "Fruity Keyboard Controller" and sort the MIDI notes for sitery.

In the following video, MIDI notes that trigger Gross Beat are sorted according to Kick to obtain a sidechain effect.

How is it?

I think it's quite an advantage that it's easy to prepare and that you can easily create various volume curves, but it's inconvenient to use it only for the sidechain effect because it is not re-triggered with the same MIDI note.

I feel that it can be solved by using Patcher or layers, but I think that it will be complicated and there will be little merit.

Each has its advantages and disadvantages.

I think it's best to use it properly according to the scene you use.
