To check your version, click on the logo in the upper left.

In the previous version, the parameters were known as "Play" and "Stop" and the automation was complicated, but in 1.04 it was aggregated to "Transport".
Hide GUI

I don't know if the GUI is the cause, but when I hide the GUI, the automation works fine and snappy.
