[Free] How to use the chord progression help tool Ripchord v2.4 version

Since it has been updated and the functions have increased, I tried to write an article including explanations of that area.

Please refer to this article for how to download and install.

How to set Ripchord

Ripchord settings

Ripchord itself doesn't come with a sound source, so you'll need to connect MIDI OUT to another VSTi.

Here, proceed on the FL Studio screen. (I think other DAWs have the same feeling)

Set the gear icon "Setting"-> "Output port" on the screen of Ripchord to any number.
(This number is OK if it is the same as VSTi to be set later)

VSTi settings to receive MIDI OUT

Anything is OK on the VSTi side.
(However, since the FL Native plug-in cannot set the MIDI port, it cannot be done without using Patcher etc.)

The thing to do is the same, set the "Input port" to the "Output port" of Ripchord.

that's all.

How to use Ripchord

Before I knew it, the functions had been expanded considerably, so I will explain about that.
(Explanation of buttons related to the increase in the center)

① Click this button once to enable MIDI recording. When enabled, recording will start the moment you receive the first input note. Click this button a second time to disable MIDI recording.

You can record the Ripchord results and drag and drop them into your DAW.
(FL Studio has Burn to MIDI, so I don't think it's necessary to use it.)

② Click this button to switch the velocity strum direction between LTR, always RTL, LTR then alternate, and RTL then alternate. This button can only be clicked if the velocity strum knob is turned on.

It is used as a set with ③.

I think LTR means Left to Right.

This can make the velocity stronger (weaker) in stages.

The strum is maximized for clarity.

The following icons have the opposite velocity when the same MIDI note is drawn, even times.

③ Turn this knob to increase the velocity strum (the difference in velocity between the first and last notes of the chord). This difference spreads evenly across all notes.

④ Turn this knob to increase velocity humanization.

⑤ Click this button to move the transpose key to the left of the input keyboard. This button can only be clicked if the transpose button is turned on.

⑥ Click this button to activate the transposed keyboard. When this button is pressed, the lower two octaves of the input keyboard go into latch mode, transposing the preset chords up and down one octave at a time.

You can transpose the key.

⑦ Click this button to move the transpose key to the right of the input keyboard. It cannot be clicked unless the transpose button is pressed.

⑧ Turn this knob to make the note more human.

⑨ Turn this knob to increase the note strum (meaning the timing difference between the first and last notes of the chord). This difference spreads evenly across all notes.

strum can generate a time difference like a guitar.

⑩ Click this button to switch the direction of the note strum between always LTR, always RTL, LTR then alternate, or RTL then alternate. This button can only be clicked if the Note Strum knob is turned on.

Same as ②.

⑪ This button displays the recorded MIDI.When this button is fully lit, you can click MIDI from this button and drag it into your DAW.

It's pretty good.

It's great to be able to do this for free.

Compared to the beginning, there are far more presets and it is more convenient.
