[Free] Introducing VC-20 that reproduces RC-20 with FL Studio Patcher

This is interesting.

Daniel Ciekalski reproduced RC-20 using Patcher.

Of course it's not the same as the RC-20, but it's free and this quality is great.

RC-20If you don't have one, please get one.

In this article, I will send you the following contents.

・ How to download VC-20
-How to start VC-20 from Patcher presets

Then I will explain it immediately.

How to download VC-20

Let's download it first.

Transition from the link below and download the two files.
(FL Studio account required)

Download "VC-20_v1.2.fst" and "20_Noise.zip".

2021 03 06 03x05 39

Unzip "20_Noise.zip" and put it in the "Packs" folder.
(The "Packs" folder is always there because it is created when you install FL Studio.)

After that, you can open it by dragging and dropping "VC-20_v1.2.fst" to FL Studio.

How to boot VC-20 from Patcher presets

If this is left as it is, it will not be easy to use, so let's make it callable from Patcher.

Save from "Save preset as" from ▼ on the upper left.

2021 03 06 03x15 07

If you save it in the "Patcher" folder, you can open it from the "Patcher" preset.

[Free] Introduction summary of VC-20 that reproduced RC-20 with Patcher of FL Studio

It's amazing to make this with Patcher.

I took a look at the contents, but I took off my hat to the idea and the guts to create.

It is like this.

2021 03 06 15x40 14

I still know if I make it using Reaktor or Max, but it's really amazing to do it with Patcher. (Something like someone who writes amazing pictures in Excel)

However, I definitely want to take advantage of the idea of using DirectWave.

I'm not an FL user, so I don't know much about Patcher, but I can see that this is a metamorphosis.
When I create my own effects, I often use Melda's MXXX, but trying to manipulate multiple parameters with a single knob can be quite annoying. (It feels like the macro function of Serum is complicated)
I feel crazy when trying to reproduce from there to the layout w

After moving from Logic to Live, I was impressed by how easy it was to create parallel processing with Effect Rack and Instrument Rack, but I realized that Patcher has even more freedom (´ ・ ω ・ `).

      thank you for your comment.
I've always thought that MXXX looks amazing, but since it's Melda-san, I'll omit it.

Looking inside the VC-20, it's a bit of a dangerous level of detail.
Probably, I think I made one module at a time and put it together at the end, but it's too amazing.
      (There may be some way)
I added the image of the contents to the last summary, so please take a look if you like.

Patcher is good, but Live has Max.
I want to study Max, but I'm quite frustrated ...

    This is terrible w (praise)
It doesn't seem like it was made directly with Patcher, so as yosi says, it seems to be taking another method.
Apart from DTM, there is an electronic circuit simulator called SPICE, which is a similar software that combines modules and nodes.
In the case of SPICE, there is a text file that describes how modules and nodes are connected, and in a large circuit, that file is tampered with, so similar node information is described in Patcher as well. There seems to be a file that has been patched.
Even if there is it, it is huge, so it is dangerous, but w

It's good that Max has more permissions than the AU / VST plugin.
You can operate DAWs and hardware, and Max devices can get more detailed information.
However, I haven't made it myself either, so I'm trying to catch a good device on Gumroad.
(Convenient even if you can't make your own)

Max is close to a new plug-in format, and Patcher is an excellent modular, so I envy Patcher from Live's point of view.

I see-there is such software as well.
As I recalled from the text, I saw somewhere that the contents of MAX and Pure Data were also text.
Then I thought about it and checked the Patcher file, but some characters were garbled in UTF8.
ImageLine (the manufacturer of FL Studio) does not seem to support text editing and does not disclose information.
It seems that the file will not open if you edit it poorly.
Hmmm, the mystery has deepened w

      > Max should have more permissions than the AU / VST plugin.
      That's true.
However, if you don't have a good amount of knowledge, you can't do anything decent ...
I want to overcome this somehow.
The merit of Patcher is that anyone can do various things quickly with a little knowledge.
But even if it's just one step away, I want this.
      I guess it's something that doesn't exist.
