It's a light article because I don't have much time.
"Gatelab" is a Gate effect, but you can output the movement of the Gate with MIDI CC.
Therefore, it is possible to move the parameters of other sound sources.
It is like this.
Then I will explain it immediately.
How to output MIDI with Gatelab of Audio Modern
Since it is necessary to route MIDI, we will set it with "Gatelab" and the sound source.
Warnings
The VST3 version of "Gatelab" cannot output MIDI if it is FL Studio.
I don't know which one is the problem,MIDI monitorsWhen I checked using, it was not output at all.
So FL Studio users should use the VST2 version.
Gatelab settings
Set "Gatelab".
Set "output port" to "0" from the gear icon on the upper left.
Click the icon on the far right of "Gatelab".
Click "ON" of "MIDI CHANEL OUT" at the top to enable it.
There is no need to change the value.
If you are using a specific CC number with a MIDI controller, etc., change "CC3" to another number.
Sound source side settings
This time, I will use the free "GR-8" that I personally recommend.
I like it, so I did the explanation of the update contents without permission.
Set MIDI in.
Set "input port" to "0" from the gear icon on the upper left.
After that, right-click on the parameter you want to move in "Gatelab" and click "Lean".
Here, the parameter is set to "CUTOFF".
I think that the knob will move automatically when you play the DAW.
I also prepared a video.
Since "Gatelab" has two MIDI outs, you can move other parameters at the same time.
Summary
At first I was doing it with VST3 version and I was worried that the parameters did not work at all.
With the VST2 version, it moved easily and missed the beat.
Win is the only tool that can do MIDI out for free and is easy to use, but there is CC Stepper.
Both have different strengths, so I think it's best to use them properly.
If there is a chargeGatekeeperOrLFO ToolsI think.
