How to Synchronize a Voltage Modular Nucleus DAW with an Arpeggiator
This is yosi from Chillout with Beats.
When I was trying it, I could do various things with the free version of Nucleus using the arpeggiator, so I wrote an article.
It's a little different from the method I introduced earlier.
I will also use "8-Step-Sequencer" as the source of modulation.
Synchronize the internal arpeggiator with your DAW XNUMX
-Make Voltage Modular loaded in your DAW.
・ Enter an appropriate code
This time, the two sources are the "CUTOFF" modulators of "Filter".
Use "8-Step-Sequencer" and "ENVELOPE GENERATOR" as modulation sources.
The modules used are as follows.
・ Filter * 1
・ ENVELOPE GENERATOR * 2
・ AMPLIFIER * 1
・ SYNC DIVIDER * 1
・ 8-Step-Sequencer * 1
・ ARPEGGIATOR * 1
I took a video of the connection.
8-Step-Modulate CUTOFF with Sequencer
From the middle of the video, "OUT" of "8-Step-Sequencer" is connected to "1V / Oct" of "Filter".
(You can also connect "OUT" of "8-Step-Sequencer" to "FREQ MOD".)
"1V / Oct" follows the note and modulates "CUT OFF".
Now you can modulate "CUT OFF" with two sources, the envelope and the sequencer.
In the video below, I shot the modulation of "CUT OFF" with two sources individually.
From the middle, move "GLIDE" of "8-Step-Sequencer" to smooth the modulation.
BPM synchronization is done in a different atmosphere from the LFO, so it's a trick that can be used even with the free Nucleus.
I took a GIF movie, but I connected the "OUT" of the "8-Step-Sequencer" to the "OSCILLOSCOPE" and checked the waveform step by step.
Since "OUT" of "8-Step-Sequencer" is also CV, you can connect and modulate it anywhere as long as it is a CV input.
In the case of modular, after all, CV can be modulated by connecting the signal to the CV input by "how many volts is the signal".
Summary of how to synchronize Voltage Modular Nucleus DAW and arpeggiator
Since the degree of freedom is very high, you can do various things with the free Nucleus depending on your ingenuity.
At first, I thought I couldn't use it because the LFO doesn't synchronize with BPM, but I think it's something I can do.
Also, if I find a story, I will write an article that can be done with the free version of Nucleus.
