Overview
Ripples offers a classic, big-sounding analog 4-pole filter in a small 4-horsepower package that continues the lineage of Mutable Instruments' warm and tasty filters that began with the Shruthi SMR4 mkII and 8-Pole Mission.
Equipped with three filter modes: 2-pole bandpass, 2-pole lowpass, and 4-pole lowpass.
It is self-oscillating in all modes and produces a clean sine wave at the LP4 output.Unlike many classic 4-pole designs, this filter does not suffer from "loudness drop" at high resonances.The resonance loudness correction circuit provides a very round "liquid" resonance with a slight tone tone reminiscent of the Roland SH / Jupiter filter.
The 4-pole lowpass output is additionally sent to the VCA.This makes it the ultimate final stage module for inexpensive, space-constrained subtractive synthesizer tones.
