The title is a method of applying parallel compression, but the point is to explain how to perform parallel processing.

If I write the conclusion first, in the case of FL Studio, each plug-in has a Mix parameter, so it is a good idea to adjust Dry and Wet.

Sleepfreaks explains about parallel comps in a very easy-to-understand manner, so please refer to this.

Then I will explain it immediately.

How to apply parallel comp with a plug-in that does not support parallel comp

First of all, I will explain how to do the title.

Here is Klanghelm's free comp, which has no Mix parameters.DC1A3I will explain using.

It's very easy to do, just adjust the mixer's Mix.

I prepared a video.

The compression is strongly applied so that the effect is easy to understand.

It's easy.

Precautions when performing parallel processing using the Mix of the mixer

At first I understood the reason, but there was a plug-in that was out of phase when I moved the Mix knob of the mixer as shown in the video below.

Please watch the video below.

You can see that it sounds like a phaser.

This was caused when "Use fixed size Buffers" was enabled.
(However, for EMINENCE, for some reason, it shifts even when "Use fixed size Buffers" is disabled.)

Therefore, when performing parallel processing with Mix of the mixer, it seems better to check with the setting of "Use fixed size Buffers".

Summary

It seems that most DAWs do not work accurately around the PDC (Plug-in Delay Compensation), so I want to understand the behavior of the DAW I use.

I haven't verified it, but Bitwig and Cubase seem to be solid around the PDC.
