[Free] How to use VST plug-in host Pedalboard2

See the previous article for downloads and initialization.

This time, I will explain the basic parts and the parts that make sounds.

Explanation of input and output

Explanation of common parameters

The initial modules are the following XNUMX types.

Each module has common parameters.

① e: Open the editor of the plug-in

In the case of "Looper", the following screen will open.

For VST, the VST GUI is displayed.

② m: Open the plug-in mapping window

When to use it, you can decide which MIDI CC to assign to which parameter when you use MIDI CC to control the plug-in.

Open the plugin's mapping window as above. Here, in addition to the parameter mapping options, you can use MIDI channel controls to make the plug-in respond only to MIDI messages on a particular MIDI channel. For more information on mapping, see the MIDI Mapping and OSC Mapping pages.

③ b: Plugin bypass

Bypass button.

④ x: Delete the plug-in

You can remove the plugin.

There is no Undo, so when you delete it, make sure that you really want to delete it.

Explanation of input and output

Pedalboard2 has three types of inputs, but they are essentially Audio and MIDI.
(Because OSC will eventually become MIDI)

Ignore OSC here.
(I plan to write it separately)

Light purple is audio and light brown is MIDI.

The cable can be pulled by dragging the recessed part.

Select when erasing OF The key.

When you connect MIDI, the following screen will appear, but if you use only MIDI notes, you can ignore it. (In short, if you just play the keyboard)

When to use it, you can decide which MIDI CC to assign to which parameter when you use MIDI CC to control the plug-in.

For example, assign Looper's "Play / Pause" to MIDI CC 104.

Then, every time you press the button to which MIDI CC 108 is assigned on an external MIDI device, Looper will play and stop repeatedly.

If you want to assign "Return to Zero" to MIDI CC 109, do as follows.

It's hard to understand, but I tried to operate it with an external MIDI device.

[Free] Summary of how to use VST plug-in host Pedalboard 2

I think it is good for those who do live performance and do not have a DAW.

You can operate VST from the device with MIDI CC in an instant.

This seems to be a matter of course, and there are many DAWs that cannot be done.
It's said that you can use MIDI Learn, but it's inconvenient when you want to assign an internally generated MIDI CC.
Some DAWs require the use of virtual MIDI drivers to route internally generated MIDI CCs.

One of the DAWs that Ableton Live can't do, you'll need to use an M1L device like the Manual CC Mapper for manual changes.
Isn't the internal generation of MIDI CC too niche?
It would be nice if I could change the MIDI CC assignments normally with a dropdown, so I can do it without Max for Live.

Really? It's a little surprising, but I think it's okay because it works with M4L devices.

      > Isn't the internal generation of MIDI CC too niche?
I like it, but what is the niche in general?
I mean, there is demand, but the possibility of just not knowing it cannot be ruled out.
