Sektor Review of Synth by Initial Audio

Wavetable oscillator
It's a good idea, so let's dig into the wavetable oscillator.
I thought, but since it is not described much in the manual, I will write the contents described in the manual first, and then describe the part that I noticed by touching it.
The Sektor has two wavetable oscillators.Wavetable synthesis is the simplest form of synthesis for creating complex and evolving sounds over time.Each oscillator contains a table of waveforms that can be selected through the display or morphed together using morph controls. Many of Sektor's wavetables are designed to be morphed smoothly over time, allowing you to create complex and evolving sounds.
Since it is only roughly described, I will add a little spec part.

After checking how many wavetables could be made, a buffer overflow occurred at 357th place and FL fell.
Up to 300 is good, but be careful when using more.
Filter
Let's take a quick look from here.
The two filters are really ordinary filters.
There are 4 types, LowPass, HighPass, BandPass, and Notch, which are 12 and 24 slopes, respectively.
It's very normal, neither good nor bad.
Modulation system
Modulation is easy to understand and intuitive to operate.
If you've touched other synths, you'll be familiar with them right away.
It is also easy to use that it supports drag and drop.
The following video assigns the LFO Destination by dragging.
The only thing I found difficult to understand was Matrix.
Matrix can probably link all modulation sources and modulation targets, their amount, and switch ON / OFF.
It is good that the linking is completed without jumping to another page each time, but even if the same settings are set elsewhereMatrix seems to have the highest priority.
If you are not used to it, you can set the modulation from each page with the Matrix set, and it will not work as expected!I'm about to fall into the trap.
Effect rack
There are basic effects, so this is neither good nor bad.
However, Trance Gate is pretty good.
This is because you can set the modulation for the Steps parameters.
Even a simple pattern can create a completely different atmosphere.
Sequencer and arpeggiator

This is a good thing to have in your synth.
It's great because you can save the patterns you made. (There are many things that cannot be done unexpectedly)
Change your favorite pattern a littleSaveClick to open a dialog where you can name and save.
There are quite a lot of sequencer presets, and I think it's good when you're out of material.
I took a video.Only the sequence is changed without changing the tone.
Arpeggiator
The usage is a little different from the normal arpeggiator, but there is no problem in terms of function.
(Now there is Komplete Kontrol, so there are few people who are in trouble even if they don't have it.)
If you type in one note and then play it on the keyboard, it will look like an arpeggiator.
However, it is not possible to sound up to the usual octave.
Change skin
The appearance is quite important, isn't it?
And each person's favorite color is quite different.
Sektor comes with a total of 13 different skins.
All of them are not just changed in color, they are completely made, so you can have a good impression.
I will put about 5 on it.

I tried some Bass presets to see how much CPU load would go.
(Since it is lightly visible, please use it as a reference.)
CPU load is in descending order,Massive X,Serum, Sektor in that order.
I visually checked the CPU usage of FL Studio on a slightly older PC (Core i7-4770K@3.5GHz).
Massive XIs about 10% to 20%
SerumIs about 8% to 15%
Sektor is about 5% to 10%
Initial Audio Sektor Review Summary
As I wrote at the beginning of this article, if it's a sale price, it's a buy. (The list price is out of the question)
However, it is delicate if you need someone who already has Serum or Avenger.
This is because Sektor has many parts that imitate Serum, but the parts related to WaveTable have not caught up at all.
