Continuing from the last time, this time I will explain "Analog Delay" from the three types installed in McDSP EC-300.
Please see the articles for free distribution and the contents up to the last time from the following.
Features of 300 types installed in McDSP EC-3
The "McDSP EC-300" is equipped with the following three types.
・ Digital Delay
・ Analog Delay
Change the delay type from the following.
Analog Delay
It is under the characteristics of Analog Delay.
"Analog Delay" has almost no unique parameters.
Perhaps the selling point is that you can change the character with "DELAY CHARACTER" and combine it with modulation to get a unique chorus and flange effect.
② DELAY CHARACTER
① Lo Tone, Hi Tone
Lo Tone (Amount that boosts or cuts the low frequencies of the delay output
Hi Tone – Amount to boost or cut the high frequencies of the delay output
The other types don't have it, but the other types have an EQ, so you can do almost the same thing.
You can adjust the treble and bass of the Wet sound.
Since it is influenced by "DELAY CHARACTER", it is not effective depending on the type.
② DELAY CHARACTER
I think it's an important parameter, but it's not mentioned in the manual.
Five types of BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) types can be selected.
Delay was originallyRoland RE-201 Space EchoTape delay like this was the mainstream, but it was big and difficult to maintain.
That's where the BBD analog Delay came out.
The following sites are easy to understand for detailed explanations about BBD.
The sound deteriorates every time it is repeatedly input to the BBD by the feedback circuit.
I compared it with "Digital Delay".
As for "Analog Delay", you can see that the high is attenuated with each feedback.
The difference in the sound of each BBD type is like this.
Wet only for the sake of clarity.
Since it is difficult to understand if it is a synth, I also prepared frequency characteristics.
It's quite different.
Summary
Next time, I will explain the common parts.
It has nothing to do with it, but since the license of EC-300 is compatible with iLok cloud, I made it to iLok cloud, but it seems that it can not be used in a fairly short time unless the network is connected.
There was a time when the network was unstable for a while, and it seemed that iLok communication was not possible, so I was asked to re-authenticate.
If re-authentication fails, it will of course not be usable until re-authentication.
The cloud is convenient, but it's scary because the network isn't always available. (Maybe I just happened to get caught in the timing of re-authentication)
