How to make a Lo-Fi drum using XLN Audio's RC-20
Let's make a drum sound like that used in Lo-Fi Hiphop with FL Studio and RC-20.
Drums like those used in Lo-Fi Hiphop sound like ducking noise when Kick sounds.
I tried to reproduce it.
It is like this.
This drum is an FPC that comes with FL Studio.
(The drum pattern was just a little edited from the FPC pattern on the day)
When all the effects are turned off, the original sound looks like this.
The effects used are as follows.
Comp is other than RC-20Royal CompressorThere is no problem other than that,RX950Is a little seasoning level, so you don't have to.
(Royal CompressorI used it because I thought that many people simply get it for free and have it.)
So the content of this article is with FL StudioRC-20It can be reproduced if there is a comp.
(Basically the same even if you are not in FL Studio)
Then I will explain it immediately.
How to make a Lo-Fi drum using RC-20
There are only two points.
・ Pass RC-20 other than Kick
Para out Kick and pass RC-20
If you para-out Kick and pass it through RC-20, it will look like the following.
The point of setting is to maximize "DECK" in "NOISE" so that noise is ducked when "Kick" sounds.
I think "VINYL 1" or "VINYL 2" is good for "Type".
The rest is a matter of taste, but I changed the tone of "Kick" with "DISTORT" and narrowed down the band with "EQ" to give a Lo-Fi feeling.
Pass RC-20 other than Kick
I also hang RC-20 on the Drum that hasn't been para-out.
It's quite different so please listen.
And to thisRX950It looks like this when multiplied by.
It feels rough and nice.
Explanation for FL Studio users
We will explain the FPC settings for FL Studio users.
First, the BPM is set to 80.
FPC settings
Kit uses "Breakbeat".
Only Kick is para-out.
If you change "Output" to "1" after selecting Kick, the changed part will be output with a relative deviation from the "FPC" out.
(If FPC is output to mixer XNUMX, Kick is output to mixer XNUMX)
The MIDI pattern is also from "Breakbeat".
After that, you can make various patterns just by adding a little Kick.
