Continuing from the last time, I will write how to use "COSMOS".
Last time there were many introductory parts, so this time I will focus on the functional parts.
Click here for the previous article.
The speed at which the preview sound sounds is significantly affected by the speed of the disc, so I will describe my environment for the time being.
WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSDTheSWEETECH NVME PCIE SSD Conversion 10Gbps NVME PCIE SSD AdapterI use it by inserting it into PCIE.
This method is recommended if you are using a relatively old desktop (not compatible with M.2) and the PCIe slot is empty.
Filtering using searches and filters
First of all, the search method and narrowing down that you will use most.
You can search by character string, but since the registered sample is analyzed, you can search by BPM or tag as well as key and instrument type.
Since the filters can be layered, you can gradually narrow down the filters.
Search by string
Searching with a character string is effective when you want to search in a wide range.
You can search by character string next to the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen.
For example, suppose you want to find a rain sound effect.
If you enter "Rain" and "Rain" is included in the file name, you will be caught in the search.
However, "Train"" Also includes "Rain", so it will be displayed in the search results.
Wildcards cannot be used at all.
Switching between Loop and Oneshot
There are "Loop" and "1shot" as the narrowing method.
If both are not selected, both "Loop" and "1shot" will be displayed.
"Loop" is a sample of the length that matches the BPM, and "1 Shot" is the sound of each part of the drum or one sound of the instrument.
I prepared a video.
"1 Shot" is a little more accurate and has a Kick loop
You can tell by the icon.
loop
1 Shot
Narrowing down by Instrument
The instrument type is not perfect, but it does classify within the permissible range.
To use it, click "Instruments" and select an instrument to display only that instrument.
If it is SSD, the preview is fast.
I prepared a video.
The sample selection is really good because it moves quite quickly.
Different instruments may be mixed, but you can correct it yourself.
Filter by Tag
"Tag" is the tag lined up at the top of the screen in the order of most samples with tags.
Therefore, in the case of the figure below, "dry" is the most common after "electronic".
You can also narrow down the details by clicking "Tags".
Narrow down by Key & BPM
You can also narrow down by "Key" or "BPM".
Click "Key & BPM" to display the following dialog.
The upper part of the screen is the "BPM" setting, and the lower part of the screen is the "Key" setting.
BPM
BPM range search
In the case of the figure below, it will be searched in the range of "+ -125" of BPM10.
Therefore, the range from BPM115 to BPM135 will be displayed in the search results.
Include half speed and double speed in search results
In the example above, if you click "X2", BPM115 to BPM135 and double BPM230 to BPM270 will be searched.
In the case of "/2", it is half, so BPM115-BPM135 and BPM58-BPM67 are also searched.
I prepared a video.
It's hard to tell if it's BPM125, so I tried it with BPM80.
Key
To narrow down by "Key", you can specify the key by clicking the keyboard.
The "relative key" is the one outside and inside the circle of fifths.
If it is CMaj, Am will also appear in the search results.
How to cancel the narrowing down
The contents narrowed down are displayed in the upper left part of the screen.
Summary
I couldn't write a little, so I'll write a little more.
