Waves has been amazing.
COSMOS Sample Finder is a browser app that allows you to easily search for samples.
It's an app, so you can't use it from your DAW.
But it was released at the same timeCR8 Creative SamplerCan work with COSMOS.
COSMOS is an app that everyone who does DTM should download.
It's great to release so many apps for free.
However, I think that the point that the interface of XO is also pakuri is a little.

COSMOS
Since many people will use it, I will explain it in two parts, from download to installation and the actual use.

Download and install COSMOS Sample Finder
Transition from the above link and click "".
Then you will be asked for your user name and password, enter them and click "Log in".
After logging in, click "GET COSMOS FREE".
This will add the COSMOS Sample Finder (hereafter COSMOS) to your account.
Once added to your account, the download will be "Central WavesDo it using.
If you do not have it, please download and install it.
"Central WavesClick "LOG IN" when you start.
You will be asked for your user name and password, so if you have trouble entering your user name and password each time, check "Remember me" and click "LOG IN".
If the following pop-up is displayed, it has nothing to do with "COSMOS", so close it with "x" now.
Check "Sample Finder" and click "Install & Activate".
The rest will be installed automatically, so wait until it finishes.
In the case of Win, there is a "COSMOS" icon in "Recently added" at the top of the start menu, so click it.
If you don't see it, it's in the "C" category instead of the Waves folder.
Know what to do first
Add your own sample folder
To add a sample, click the "+" next to "Local Folders" on the left to display the selection dialog. Select the sample folder.
Then the folder will be added as shown below.
You may not recognize it as having a large number of folders.
(In that case, it seems that you have to wait for the update or register individually)
After adding, the analysis will start for a while and the progress will be displayed like a pie chart as shown in the red frame in the figure below.
During the analysis, the CPU load will rise to nearly 100%, so it's a good idea to add it before going to bed or going out.
If you want to stop scanning, press the pause button on the upper right to stop.
Even if you stop scanning, the next scan will continue from the previous scan.
Change the view
"COSMOS" has three views.
Make changes from the icon in the center of the screen.
WAVEFORM
This is the default display.
Since the background is displayed, it is easy to imagine.
However, since the vertical width is wide, you will feel a little slack when scrolling.
(Maybe it's a spec issue)
LIST
Since the waveform is not displayed, the number of samples displayed on one screen is large.
COSMOS
It is a view that displays one shot of XO's Pakuri.
That's right.
The function to display similar tones in the lower right is similar.
In "COSMOS", you can change the displayed category type from the upper center of the screen.
I quoted the Japanese translation because it was mentioned in some manuals.
• The “Space” map shows dry samples on the left and wet samples on the right.
-The "Brightness" map has dark sounds on the left side of the screen and bright sounds on the right side.
-The “Instrument” is a little different, and samples of the same instrument are classified in the same “Galaxy”.
I prepared a video.
Especially "Instrument" is wonderful.
Each instrument is roughly a lump, so it seems to be useful when quickly searching for similar sounds.
Summary
I can't believe this is free.
And if it looks like "XO" so far, I even wonder if the person who made "XO" moved to Waves.

Comment
It's been a while since we've come up with great software that is easy to understand. The tension goes up.
It's like XO, and the additional functions that are later added are also attractive.
However, this is free, but is there a charge for updates?
The expiration date of the update on the product page is one year like other products.
I don't use Waves, so I don't have any knowledge about licenses around here.
Even so, it's amazing.Thank you for your review!
This is really good.
The Waves license is the same as Bitwig and supports updates for a year and after thatWUP (Waves Update Plan)You need to buy.
Therefore, you can use it for as long as you use it.
I don't have time at all right now, but I can't allow articles with less content to come to the top of Google search for articles about products that are in demand.
(Google search has an element of winning quickly, so it is necessary to write it early)
I will write a little more!
