How to use Venomode Phrasebox ① (Basic)

Recommended at the time of sale beforeVenomode PhraseboxI will write a little about how to use.

What you can do is make the following code look like a video.
(The video also has a delay)

2020 12 30 02x49 05

The above code looks like this:

PhraseboxIs a time-saving tool, and I think it goes well with FL Studio.
(Because there is Burn to MIDI, you can export it hard)

In this article, I will send you the following contents.

・ Setting to make sound with Venomode Phrasebox
・ Try playing presets in Phrasebox

Setting to make sound with Venomode Phrasebox

Phrasebox is like a MIDI effect, so it doesn't produce any sound by itself.

Only after MIDI routing to other synths will the sound be heard.

First of all, I will explain from the setting.

Load the Phrasebox and the sound source you want to play.

Here, we will use Vital, which can be used for free.

I've also written some Vital articles, so be sure to check them out as well.

Phrasebox MIDI settings

Load the Phrasebox.

2020 12 30 02x43 45

Click the gear icon on the Phrasebox.

Set "Output port" of "Settings" to "0".

2020 12 30 02x24 30

Vital settings

It also loads Vital.

Select a preset that sounds with Poly.

2020 12 30 02x44 38

Click the gear icon.

Set "Input port" of "Settings" to "0".

2020 12 30 02x41 56

Type the code you want to play next into the Phrasebox.

Anything is fine, but this time I did the following.

2020 12 30 02x49 05

Let's play it simply.

Enter the following from the INIT state.

"All" means that all MIDI notes will sound at the input timing.

If you play it with this, you will hear a sound.

2020 12 30 02x52 42

It looks like the following.

Play presets in Phrasebox

First, let's load the preset.

Select "Um Pah" from "Chords".

2020 12 30 02x55 56

Then it will be as follows.

It's a little easier, isn't it?

I will explain how to use it in detail next time, but I will explain a little.

The number on the left means the number counted from the bottom of the MIDI note.

2020 12 30 03x04 12

And the ▼ on the second beat means the MIDI note below the specified note.
(Here, -5 is set)

2020 12 30 03x08 41

Therefore, the code is played as follows.
(2 degrees down on the 4nd and 5th beats)

2020 12 30 03x03 36

There is one caveat, this preset is set to use up to the 5th MIDI note.
(Use up to 8)

Therefore, if the chord is not a 3 chord or a 4 chord, a sound will be produced and it will not be possible to demonstrate its true character.

When using the presets of this plug-in, it is often better to increase the number of chords.

How to use Venomode Phrasebox ① (Basic) Summary

Phrasebox is really convenient.

Moreover, if you export it with FL "Burn to MIDI", you can edit it in detail.
(Other DAWs should have similar functions)
