Valhalla Super Massive is now version 2.0! !!

It's surprising that this level of plugins is free, but it's just too nice to be constantly updated like this.

This is a level that users who have various paid plugins should also have.

Since the GUI is so simple, I think that some people may look at it loosely, but I think that Delay with various modes so far is rare even if it is paid.

Please refer to the following article for an overview of Valhalla Super Massive itself.
(You can listen to the difference between each mode with a sound.)

How to update to Valhalla Super Massive v2.0

ValhallaSupermassive is a free plugin available for both Windows and Intel / ARM Mac. Get demos of all free and commercial plugins on the Supermassive page, or on the New Demos and Downloads page.

The update is very easy, just download and install the new installer.

If you move from the above link and scroll to the bottom, you will find download links for Mac and Win respectively.

More presets have been added.

The 2.0.0 Supermassive update will install a new preset folder "SPRING 2022".These presets will give you the above tips and tricks for the new mode and should serve as a useful place for future experiments.

Explanation of the modes added in Valhalla Super Massive v2.0

Overview

Valhalla Supermassive is celebrating its 2nd anniversary. To commemorate this, we are releasing a Supermassive 2 update that includes two new reverb modes, Aquarius and Pisces.

Aquarius and Pisces are a topology I call “EchoVerb”, which is a modification of the feedback delay network. These algorithms have a strong audible echo that corresponds directly to the displayed delay time. By changing WARP, FEEDBACK, and DENSITY, Aquarius and Pisces can be used for standard delays, mixed reverb delays, strong pre-delayed reverbs, and weird and wild echo sounds.

Explanation of the two added modes

Aquarius

Aquarius mode is similar to the previous Capricorn mode in that it has eight delays in the feedback delay network. The main change is that Aquarius has only two delays in the output signal (one for the left channel and one for the right channel). The length of the left and right output delays is the same regardless of the WARP setting. This makes signal echoes and delays very audible, especially when the DENSITY is set low. Raising the DENSITY control sends the output of other delays in the feedback delay network to the global feedback path, resulting in a more reverb sound, or a lower WARP setting for more comb filtering. When WARP is 8% and Modulation DEPTH is 2%, increasing DENSITY will strangely cancel the echo signal, creating interesting polyrhythms and panning.

"Aquarius" mode is a mode in which the Wet sound of the delay gradually changes to reverb as the feedback is repeated.

The adjustment is "WARP" and "DENSITY".

If you set the value of "WARP" high, the feeling of Reverb becomes stronger.

You can adjust the density of Reverb with "DENSITY".

Pisces

Pisces mode is essentially a high density version of Aquarius mode and can be thought of as a modified Gemini mode with only two output delays (one for the left channel and one for the right channel). Raising the DENSITY control mixes the output of other delays in the feedback delay network with the global feedback path. Due to the large number of delays in Pisces mode, the density and richness of the reverb builds faster than in Aquarius mode.

It seems that the "Pisces" mode is the same as the "Aquarius" mode, only the density is different.

It feels more spacey.

Summary

Valhalla is really wonderful.

I'm thinking of buying a sloppy Delay, but I hesitate because it seems that the price has risen due to the depreciation of the yen.

If the yen depreciates in the future, you should buy it early ...

It was 1 yen when it was 110 yen to the dollar, but it was 5,500 yen when it was 1 yen to the dollar, which is about a 130% increase.

And since the United States is going to raise interest rates, I think there is a high possibility that the yen will depreciate further.

I wonder if I should buy it loosely ...
