How to change presets with program change
Personally, I feel that this function is the best selling point of CYCLOP.
Serum can't do this either.
(Even if the function itself is attached, the CPU load is too high and presets cannot be changed in real time.)
As usual, the method is from FL Studio, but you should be able to do it with other DAWs in the same way as sending a program change with an external sound source.
Send a program change to CYCLOP in FL Studio
First, load "CYCLOP".
Set "input port" to "0" from the gear icon on the upper left.
Then load "MIDI out".
It means sending a program change from "MIDI out".
Let's change the "Patch" of "MIDI out".
It is OK if the preset of "CYCLOP" changes with this.
You can use automation, but unfortunately FL Studio automation is not good at straight lines.
So use "EVENT".
The usage is the same as when creating an automation clip, and you can select it by right-clicking on the target.
Right-click on "Patch" and click "Edit event".
I will edit on this screen, but since there are tips, I will explain that area as well.
How to edit EVENT
When switching CYCLOP presets by program change, it is meaningless unless it is a straight line, or a good effect cannot be obtained.
Use the "Draw" tool.
With the "Paint" tool, it becomes too detailed and stressful.
Click the magnet icon next to it to change the snap.
1 Beat is one beat.
After that, if you look for a preset that feels good, you can quickly create something like this.
