I tried to reproduce the method learned from the Kilohearts blog with SerumFX
I wrote an article yesterday, and I thought that "Serum FX" could be done, but it turned out to be a decent result.
Please see the following article for how to use "Faturator"
What I tried was "emphasize the attack of the synth".
I prepared a video.
("SerumFX" is applied to the main (Sylenth1) riff)
It may be interesting to say that chorus, flanger, etc. are applied only for a moment of attack.
Let's explain how to do it.
Emphasize synth attacks with SerumFX
First, make a main riff (thing) with a synth or the like.
Load SerumFX into the mixer.
MIDI settings
It's a familiar MIDI setting every time.
Set "Input port" to "0".
Serum FX settings
Click "FX" in SerumFX to open it.
Click the LED part of "DISTORTION" to turn it on.
Select your favorite "DISTORTION" type from the dropdown.
(Here, select "Diode 2")
Set the LFO.
Make the LFO in the form of an ADSR like you would use it with a Pluck.
Set Mode to "ENV".
After that, drag "LFO1" to assign the modulation to "MIX" of "DISTORTION".
I prepared a video.
MIDI out settings
Load "MIDI out".
For "MIDI out", enter the same MIDI as the main riff as an LFO trigger.
In short, it's OK if you copy the MIDI note of the main riff "Sylenth 1" to "MIDI out".
After that, feel free to add comps, reverbs, choruses, etc. as you like.
Summary of how to reproduce the method learned from Kilohearts blog with SerumFX
You can't do multi-band, but you can also do it with SerumFX.
Now, I've learned how to adjust Gain with the effect of SerumFX.
It's not a big deal, but I'll write an article for the time being.
