How to create a sidechain effect that easily matches perfectly with FL Studio (XNUMX on the floor only)

I thought about it for a moment and it was easy to do, so I wrote an article.

First, I will briefly explain the title "Perfect Matching Sidechain Effect".

The sidechain effect is gain reduction by the volume envelope, so strictly speaking, it is not a sidechain.

And although it is a perfect match, it is because a volume envelope that matches the Kick waveform is prepared and gain reduction is performed. (Although there are some errors, I like that area)

The envelope is made with Gross Beat.

Gain reduction with a volume envelope that matches the Kick's waveform creates a very natural sidechain effect. (Although this is not always a benefit)

I compared it with Duck, so please watch the video below.

Gross Beat is quite natural, so if you don't listen carefully, you won't know that the sidechain effect is applied.

Duck has a clear sidechain effect, good or bad.

This article will be sent with the following contents.

・ Prepare one bar of four-on-the-floor Kick
-Create a Kick volume envelope with Gross Beat

Prepare a four-on-the-floor Kick for one bar

First, prepare a four-on-the-floor Kick as a preparation.

It doesn't matter how you do it, but if you prepare it in FL Studio, I think it's easy to render.

Make four-on-the-floor for one bar with the following feeling.

The upper part of "Playlist"Ctrl + Drag to select a range for one measure.

AndShift + Alt + c When you press, the rendering screen will appear, so just click "Start" to render.

Then, as shown below, a four-on-the-floor Kick was created for one measure.

I also prepared a video for the time being.

Now you are ready to go.

Create a Kick volume envelope with Gross Beat

Load "Gross Beat" into the mixer.

You can read it anywhere, but it's better than the master.

Open Gross Beat and select Volume Slot 1.

Then double-click on the four-on-the-floor rendered earlier.

Then the following screen will be displayed.

Drag and drop the red frame in the figure below to Gross Beat.

What do you mean, isn't Kick's envelope created?

However, since it is the same envelope as Kick as it is, it is inverted.

Click "Flip vertically" from ▼.

That's it.

I also prepared a video.

After that, if you play the sound you want to produce the sidechain effect to the mixer in which GrossBeat is inserted, the sidechain effect will be applied at the timing of four-on-the-floor.

Summary

Besides GrossBeat, automation can do the same thing, so I will write an article there as well.

But honestly it's a hassleSweetsonics' Laser Size: XNUMX mL

The side chain is automatically applied, and you can adjust the attack, hold, and release.

And you can adjust to the start position of the side chain.

If you are having trouble with the side chain, there is also a demo version, so please give it a try.
