Although it is still a beta version, there were no problems while using it.

It's a bit troublesome because there are no presets, but it's a good idea to change various settings yourself and save the presets in your DAW.

I tried playing it on a drum.

There are no presets, so I prepare presets by changing the parameters in advance and switch between them.

Since it is a stereo specification, it is a hassle, but it will feel strange if you do not have both "Cab 1" and "Cab 2".
(Maybe you can change the left and right sides to create a different space.)

If you only want to set the cab, it is easy to turn one side off and set the "Acoustic Solution" parameter to "Just Cab."
(However, since the Booth part is bypassed, it will not change even if you change the Booth (lower) parameter.)

It's pretty hard to understand, to say the least.

Coil Size & BL: : Detailed design of coil size, inductance, and force coefficient.

Cone Slope: Cone slope changes the overall mechanical stiffness.

Cone Mftrl: Changes the material characteristics of the speaker cone (e.g. Light & Stiff).

Cab Type: Choose from open cabinet or closed cabinet.

Axial / Radial Pos: Near field solution Pnear(w, z, r) position(z, r)

Pan (L/R): Panning. Valid only when “Just Cab” solution is selected.

Acoustic Solution: Just Cab -> Near field solution or combined -> 'Cab & Booth'

Booth Type: Booth size and shape (A:B > A:A)

How far...: The positional relationship between the cabinet and the back wall.

Direction: The tangential position of the cab {~on axis, corner, wide left.

Cab to the …: Left or right side?

Tail Boost/Lag: Scaling and time lag adjustment of reflected sound level

Direct Scale: Direct sound scaling.

Speaker Volume: Individual volume adjustment

 

Overview

CabOne is a simple speaker cabinet and booth emulator based on an automatic calculation concept.We systematically use two parametric acoustic models to calculate the effective spectrum of impulse responses for different cabinets placed in different small rooms.The aim of this numerical project is to obtain a kind of "cabinet in a booth" response by integrating the results of acoustic analyzes based on these models:

Acoustic near-field models (based on a multiphysics approach) represent a numerical counterpart that simulates the recording process used to obtain the cabinet's IR.
The corresponding far-field model solves the room acoustics problem.In other words, we calculate the transfer function between an acoustic source (a radiating cabinet somewhere in the room) and a stationary receiver.
The development of the model relies on a pragmatic approach, and for simplicity only a limited number of speaker cabinets and room-related parameters are implemented (initially).

The intention of CabOne is to offer anyone interested in numerical exercises of this type the possibility to evaluate the results achieved so far with this modeling concept.As such, CabOne is a beta (based on the development version) compilation and should be used accordingly.

From a DAW perspective, this plugin is treated like any other cabinet simulator.The far field model is a bit too dry and lacks dimensionality (perhaps a penalty for being too simple), so you can use multiple cabinets to reduce this behavior.

The mixdown bass/guitar track is based solely on the output from the plug-in, without any signal conditioning processing to tweak or change the sound. The third track is more of a stress test, with 3 cabinets in use at the same time.

Precautions

- Plug-in CabOne is a beta version and there is no warranty of any kind!
- By downloading CabOne, the user acknowledges that this software is for evaluation purposes and shall handle it accordingly.
・Since only a limited number of plug-ins have been checked, they may not work depending on your DAW.
- There is no installation script, so plugins must be placed in the appropriate location manually.
・Stereo tracks are required for CabOne to work properly.
-The GUI is unfinished as we are focusing on the development of acoustic models.

Installation

In the case of Win, when you unzip it, a VST3 file is included, so just put it in the folder below and you're done.

Summary

Although it is inconvenient that there are no presets, you can get sounds that are playing in various spaces.

It's still a beta version, so I'm sure there will be future updates.

Functionally, it seems to be close to completion, so it would be great if presets were included.
