[Free] How to use Bigfish Audio Momentum as a slicer XNUMX
I'm yosi, the caretaker.
I will explain how to use Momentum, which I wrote an introduction article before.
Momentum is a very good slicer.
Since it also has its own effects, you can make a lot of sounds by itself.
This time I will explain the basic part of the slicer.
Use Momentum as a slicer
Initial setup
To use Momentum as a slicer, click "SLICE" at the bottom left of the screen.
If this is left as it is, it will be played to the end when you press the keyboard.
Switch "Mode" to "SHOT".
Now you are ready to use it as a slicer.
MIDI dump
To dump MIDI, drag and drop the following icons onto the channel or piano roll.
I prepared a video.
Adjust slices
Click SLICE to adjust the slice.
In this state, you can move the marker freely.
When deleting, select the target andDelete キ ー.
Sometimes it is hard to disappear, so in that case move the marker and thenDelete It disappears when you press the key.
AndDouble-click to add a new marker.
Adsorb the marker to the grid
If "SNAP SLICES TO GRID" of "Option" is set to On, it will be adsorbed to the grid.
Slice according to the number of beats
If you want to slice according to the number of beats, select from "GRID".
[Free] How to use Bigfish Audio Momentum as a slicer XNUMX Summary
It is inconvenient that the automatic slicing function cannot be adjusted, but other than that, it is excellent.
Next time, I will explain the effect part.
It is quite convenient to apply the effect on a slice-by-slice basis.

This sample has no tempo set in its meta data. Please provide a tempo in bpm.
It says that the tempo is not specified, and even if I enter the BPM appropriately in the frame, the waveform is not displayed. Is there any way to solve this?
If it is a sample that is included in the expansion, it will be displayed without doing anything, but what is the difference?
It would be helpful if you could teach me if you understand.
Thank you.
Mr. Yuu
When you ask a question, be sure to write what you are using to get to that state.
Does that mean that the message was displayed using FL Studio?
Is it MPC?
thank you for your reply.
I was able to confirm the message in both DAWs.
What I want to solve is the behavior in FL.
I'm trying to read a WAV file that sounds fine in FL, so it doesn't seem to be a problem...
P.S.
Regarding the question below, it was not necessary to tap inside the frame when using a MIDI keyboard.
I'm talking about FL.
I haven't tried it on MPC.
Also, in the article written in another article, it was supposed that the complete control could be played stand-alone with a PC keyboard, but it did not sound with the PC keyboard in this environment, and there was no problem if a MIDI keyboard was used.
Maybe it's a problem with the PC keyboard input settings?
When you taught me two ways to change the root note of FL before, it didn't work with the method using numbers, so I changed it by right-clicking the keyboard from the settings, so there might be something wrong.
Excuse me.
I don't know what you are asking unless you provide more details.
I will be careful.
Mr. yuu
Reply was slow.
No such message appeared in my environment.
I think the message means that there is no tempo information in the metadata.
Is it possible that the file is too long?
If it is too long, edit it to make it shorter and try reading it.
If you click the icon on the upper right, you can send the input from the PC keyboard with priority to the wrapper.
Depending on the plug-in, there are things that shortcuts are valid, so I think it's a measure for that.
So if you give priority to the wrapper, the shortcut of the plugin will not work.
I think that it is good to switch operations flexibly in this area.
When pasting the manual Japanese translation of manual keyboard input priority.
If you can write the environment, it will be easier to answer, so please take care of it.
There is one more thing, but when you fiddle with parameters etc. with Momentum or NI contacts (these two are confirmed), the sound will not sound unless you tap the cursor once inside the plug-in frame. Well, can you fix the settings?
Thank you for replying despite your busy schedule.
If you click the icon on the upper right, you can send the input from the PC keyboard with priority to the wrapper.
Is the above icon the keyboard icon attached to the plug-in?
Samples that cannot be read from Momentum, samples recorded with MPC, but not all of them can be read.
There is no problem if it is a Serato sample, not a particularly long sample.
It really hurts that I missed the Serato sample sale lol
It may be some kind of MPC recording setting.
Are there any items that could be checked?
Is this about sound quality or bitrate? →It is a sample that cannot be read, but when it is selected, it is displayed as 44.1KHZ16 or 32 on FL, and it seems that there is no difference from other readable samples.
Mr. yuu
Yes.
I forgot to paste the link.
It is the place of "3" of the link destination.
https://www.image-line.com/fl-studio-learning/fl-studio-online-manual/html/plugins/wrapper.htm
If so, I think it's a problem on the MPC side or the Momentum side.
Since the error is related to metadata, how about deleting the metadata once?
We had the following services:
Please note that this is just an example and has not been used.

Hello
Thank you for the information.
I tried to insert the corresponding file on the browser edit page such as deleting metadata, but it does not move from loading.
I also stopped ad blocking, but it didn't go any further.
When I searched for metadata, I found that the daw software studioone can edit the metadata, but there is no BPM etc. in the editing items, and it seems that only the information that can be seen from the wav file properties, such as who composed the music, is changed.
I feel that BPM is a keyword, but it seems that there is no such setting in the metadata.
Even if you add BPM90 by renaming, the behavior is the same, and there is no hit in the search for metadata editing BPM.
I haven't tried the slicer that comes with FL, but this one reads without problems.
Thank you for prioritizing the rapper.
You have an online manual.
I did not know.
What is the plug-in mark? That's what I thought.
I will try using it while switching.
Check the MPC settings again.
I have one more question, do you have any other recommended slice plug-ins like Momentum or Serato Samples?
I heard that kontakt7 can do the same thing, so I was interested, but there is a lot of information that reads the sound source and sounds it, but I haven't found any information that slices it.
Do you know if kontakt7 can be used in the same way as the above plugin?
I have installed Kontakt Player.
Mr. yuu
I think it's a problem on the MPC side, so I think it's better to contact Akai support.
For slicers, FL Studio's Slicex is easy to use.
I think that the paid version was necessary to use the slice function in kontakt7.
Thank you for your reply.
It seems that it is not just the MPC sound source.
I recorded the browser sound appropriately with a virtual audio mixer called VoiceMeeter and put it in momentum, but I got the same warning and could not slice it.
I'm contacting the developer and will let you know if I find anything out.
If he doesn't answer, I'll ask Akai as well.
It seems that there is slice editing in the paid version of kontakt7, but I don't see how to use it like a seller or momentum for videos etc.
I asked him if he might know something.
For slicers, FL Studio's Slicex is easy to use.
This and a fruity slicer?I'm also touching it little by little.
I just feel like I'm looking for a slicer because I haven't touched it yet intuitively.
It's really little by little, but I'm studying FL with reference to articles.
If I hadn't found yosi, it might not have continued.
I really appreciate it.
Thank you very much.
Mr. yuu
Is that so.
I got the same message when I loaded the one shot, but when I put in the BPM, I was able to load it.
A waveform was also displayed.
Please inquire.
(I think that support has a lot of information, so you may have information as a known issue)
Personally, I prefer Slicex over Momentum.
I also wrote the following articles:
I think FL Studio makes it easy to slice and process.
https://chilloutwithbeats.com/flstudio-sample-slice/
Thank you very much.
Yes, please enjoy yourself.
We become indebted to.
I received an answer from the developer about the file cannot be read, so I am reporting it.
XNUMX-bit audio files cannot be loaded at this time.
It was supposed to be XNUMX bit only.
Do you understand that the above can be selected and confirmed on this side?
In FL, when you select a sample, there is a number at the bottom right of the waveform, is this what you mean?
It's written 44.1hz16 and I can read it, so I don't understand it well.
I will study the recommended slice x.
It's included so there's no way you can't use it
It was just a report.
Thank you all!
Mr. Yuu
Thank you for sharing the information.
I tried reading a 16bit file as a trial, but it can be read normally.
I think it's a different issue.
Yes, Slicex is recommended, so please try using it.
