Use VeeSeeVS Rack as an effect (Filter)

This is yosi from Chillout with Beats.

I have introduced it before, but it seems that few people are using it, so I took it up again.

Please refer to the following article for how to install VeeSeeVS Rack and how to use it easily.

This time, I will focus on how to use VeeSee VS Rack as an effector.

If you make it, you can use it when you want something.

First of all, I will introduce the recommended ones with Filter.

Preparing to use VeeSeeVS Rack as an effector

It's easy, but it's a review.

First, start VeeSeeVS Rack on the mixer.

Right-click and enter "Audio" in the search window and click "Audio" from the search results.

This completes the preparation.

Simply add and connect your favorite effect modules.

Let me give you a concrete example.

5 Recommended Filters for VeeSeeVS Rack

Right-click and enter "filter" in the search window.

Then, the following is displayed and "Filter / VCF" is displayed in the place of "Tag", so click it.

All the modules displayed here are Filter type modules.

I will introduce 5 + 1 from these.

You can find it by right-clicking and searching by name.

1. Southpole Rakes

Because it's salty, Filter? It's a module like that, but it's a Stereo Resonator.

Since it is compatible with stereo, you can easily use it by connecting it as it is.

I took a video.

I will post the explanation of the developer.

Inspired by the Ableton Resonator effect
・ 6 stereo comb filter
-V / OCT input quantized to SEMI tone or FREE
・ FINE detuning works with the opposite sign of the L / R channel.
・ If the value is small, the Haas effect will occur (stereo expansion).
・ Individual gain
-Ideal for use with a code generator patched to the V / OCT input

2. Squinky Labs Formants

Since it does not support stereo, some ingenuity is required.

First, prepare two modules.

And for controls, this time I'm using two methods, one that is automated from FL Studio and the other that is controlled using Mixer.

I took a video.

Like the Vocal Animator, this is a filter bank tuned to the formant frequencies of a typical singing voice. However, unlike Growler, filters do not animate on their own.Instead, it is set to produce a specific singing note.Filters are preset to frequencies, bandwidths, and gains taken from human singer measurements.

One of the easiest ways to get a good sound from Formants is to use it like a regular VCF.For example, ADSR controls Fc.Then put a second modulation source in the vowel CV-something as simple as a slow LFO is intriguing.

Used as a filter bank.Set the knobs to sound just right and leave them locked to add vocal tones to the pads.Again, adjusting the vowel CV can easily give great results.

Try synthesizing something like a song by sequencing several formant vowel CVs. Leave the Fc as it is, or move it a little as the input pitch moves.

3. Lindenberg Research Valerie MS20 Filter

Since the information is not in the developer, it is only a video.

As the name suggests, it seems to have been influenced by the Korg filter.

4. Lindenberg Research Laika Diode Ladder Filter

This is also the same development and there is no information, so it will be only a video.

From the name, it seems that it was influenced by Moog's filter.

It has a very good distortion.

You can also change the order with the dual filter.

5.Frozen Wasteland Hair Pick

I don't know if this can be read as a filter.

And I don't know how to use it, but I will introduce it because it makes a great sound.

Since it supports stereo, it can be used as it is.

Based on Intellijel / Cylonix Rainmaker's comb filter section
The best bet is to refer to this: https://intellijel.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/rainmaker_manual-v109.pdf
The size of the comb filter is based on the clock and frequency division or size parameters-patching the clock disables the size knob.
V / Oct works using either method
Size CV can be resized by +/- 10% using both Clock or Size
There are 16 comb patterns, the last 8 are the first 8 randomly perturbed versions.
The tap count can change the number of taps between 1 and 64.These will be inactive with the pattern shown in the rainmaker's manual.
Edge levels, tent levels, and tent taps control the overall volume of the tap.
The feedback type can add non-linearity and exponential decay.Clarinet mode is currently the same as a guitar.
Size-out allows you to control other modules by comb length (such as feedback delays in Portland weather)

Using VeeSeeVS Rack as an effect (Filter) Summary

How about, I think there is a sound that can be used quite a bit.

There are many other things, so please give them a try.

We will cover other effects as needed.
