I'm yosi, the maintainer of Chillout with Beats.

Recently, I started to take up the article on Impulse Response (hereinafter referred to as IR), and while I was researching various things, I wanted to make it myself.

FL Studio also bridges 32-bit plug-ins, so you can create IRs for plug-ins that cannot be used with 32-bit (almost limited to reverb) with 64-bit plug-ins.

So I will show you how to make an IR using FL Studio.

FL Studio can also be exported as a trial version, so it is also possible to obtain an IR using the trial version.

Please refer to the following article for the trial version.

See this tag for free IR.I'm introducing various things.

What is IR?

I will quote.

Also called IR for short. A reaction to a pulse (impulse) with no width of only one shot.It is used in a convolution reverb that generates a reverb, which is a reverberation effect effect, by performing a convolution calculation with a sound signal.

I don't know how difficult it is, but if you have IR for the time being, you can get a realistic reverberation effect (reverb), although there are restrictions.

There was a video on the official FL Stutio, so I will post it.

I think that even people who are not good at English can understand it.

Let's actually make it.

How to make IR

In FL Studio, prepare the Fruity Conbolver and the effect you want to take IR, Fruity Conbolver, in the mixer as shown below.

I will explain the first Fruity Conbolver as "Fruty Conbolver 1" and the second as "Fruty Conbolver 2".

First, change the parameter settings for the effect you want to take IR.
At this time, pay attention only to Wet.

Then click the record button on "Fruty Conbol ver 2".

Then click the lightning bolt icon in "Fruty Conbol ver 1".

With this, it will be recorded on "Fruty Conbolver 2", the recording will stop without permission, and the extra parts will be cut and even normalized! (splendid!)

that's all. It's super easy.Heavy reverbs can be made lighter without sacrificing quality using this method.

Sound source demo

First, I tried it with Fruity Reverb 2 built into FL Studio.

But an unexpected fact. Fruty Reverb 2 is monaural, isn't it?
(As long as I'm embarrassed to know more ...)

So it sounds a little different, but don't worry lol

First, the sound of the effect as it is

This is the IR acquired this time.It sounds a little different because it sounds in stereo.

I'm a little unconvinced, I also recorded it with RealVerb.

The shape is a cube and the material is brick. It feels like a big live house.

RealVerb only.

IR acquired here

It feels good.

The IR (Impulse Response) created this time can be downloaded from here, so please use it if you are interested.

Summary

How is it?It was easy to make.

Especially with FL Studio, it's quite automatic, so it's even easier.

Personally, it was good to know that the best harvest this time was to make monaural things into stereo.
For example, the old reverb of a guitar is monaural, so it may be good to convert it to IR and make it stereo.
