How to use Avenger How to output ARP or SEQ via MIDI XNUMX
I'm yosi, the administrator of Chillout with Beats.
The previous article is here.
You can now play phrases on other synths using the previous method.
However, when actually making a song, it is unavoidable that only one phrase can be made, so it is necessary to make variations and compose it as a song.
It's a little different from the title, but this time I'll show you how to change the pitch of Arp.
How to change the pitch of Arp
First, change the pitch of Arp to create a variation.
There are two ways to change the pitch.
・ Change the pitch from the DAW sequencer
・ Change the pitch on the Avenger side
Change the pitch from your DAW sequencer
I don't think you need any explanation, but if you change the pitch with your DAW sequencer, the sound will change.
This method is easy to use for Bass Arp with the same scale octave pattern.
If it is a preset, it is the following pattern that exists in many categories of "Bass".
All are "C", so if you play C on a MIDI note, C will sound.
In short, the scale to be output is the same as the MIDI note.
The merit is that you can create a bass pattern by playing the chord progression route as it is.
Please watch the video below.
I'm just ringing the root of the chord, but I can try different base patterns.
Change the pitch on the Avenger side
This method is effective when you have a pattern you want to use in the preset, but you want to change the pitch a little.
Avenger's Arp editor isn't easy to use as a compliment, so if you need a lot of modifications, it's more efficient to output it via MIDI before editing.
To change the pitch, drag up and down in the red frame in the figure below to change the pitch.
If you want to change the octave, drag the green part.
Use the following buttons to move the entire note up or down by one note or octave up or down.
The gray part of the background is the velocity.
I took a simple video.
How to use Avenger How to output ARP and SEQ by MIDI XNUMX Summary
To be clear, Avenger can be used as a phrase sequencer.
Therefore, if you register various patterns in Avenger, I think that the time for writing songs will be shortened.
(Unfortunately, it seems that you cannot register patterns from MIDI etc. to Avenger)
Next time, I will do the method of MIDI output to FL Studio and editing.
