I will finally take some time, so this is the last article on COSMOS.
The articles up to the last time are here.
I will summarize the articles at a later date, so please bookmark the first article.
This time I will write about COSMOS View.
Explanation of COSMOS View
In the COSMOS view, one-shot samples are analyzed and scattered throughout COSMOS.Similar sounds are displayed nearby. You can change the placement of the sample using Map Select. This changes the weight on the horizontal axis given to certain characteristics of the sound when distributed over COSMOS.
It is almost the same as XO, but you can change the display method.
There are 5 types of display methods in all.
Since there are only three types described in the manual, I will explain with guessing as if I used it.
The following three are the three types described in the manual.
-Space: Dry sample is displayed on the left side and Wet sample is displayed on the right side.
-Instrument: Samples of the same instrument are classified in the same “galaxy”.
The following two types include guessing: Brightness: A dark sound is placed on the left side and a bright sound is placed on the right side.increase.
-Dynamics: Sounds with a large volume change are displayed on the left side, and sounds with a small volume change are displayed on the right side.
Brightness
Brightness: Dark sound is placed on the left side and bright sound is placed on the right side.
I feel that this mode is close to XO.
In particular, if you set "Gradient" at the top of the screen to "OFF", the colors will be closer.
(And I think this is easier to use)
When "Gradient" is set to "OFF" in "Brightness", the red type is Kick, the orange type is Snare, and the yellow type is HiHat.
Space
Space: Dry sample is displayed on the left side and Wet sample is displayed on the right side.
It's more like judging by the tail of the reverb rather than Dry and Wet.
If it is a sample that seems to be faded out, it will be displayed on the right side.
Instrument
Instrument: Samples of the same instrument are classified in the same “galaxy”.
It is displayed for each Instrument.
It seems that the sound becomes higher as it goes to the right and the sound becomes shorter as it goes up.
Saturation
Saturation: The sound with less distortion is displayed on the left side, and the distorted sound is displayed on the right side.
It seems that the sound of "Saturation" becomes shorter as it goes up.
(Quite ambiguous)
Dynamics
Dynamics: The sound with a large volume change is displayed on the left side, and the sound with a small volume change is displayed on the right side.
It seems that the longer the sample is displayed, the higher it goes.
Summary
It is quite good as a sample management software that can be used for free.
However, it is not the case when it comes to replacing XO.
(Looking for similar sounds, You can't make a kit or make a pattern quickly)
You pointed out.
Similar sounds can be made from ▼ ▲ where the waveform of the sample in the upper right is displayed.
(To be exact, the sample in close proximity is selected, so I think that similar tendencies may differ depending on the display method.)
In addition, the complement of that side isLoopcloud DRUMYou can do it with.
If you don't have XO, you should use COSMOS, and if you have XO, you should use XO to make Kit.
I will write an article about COSMOS in another frame.
Comment
Piano Overlord Super good!
Thank you for your introduction.
It was good!
I can't introduce it very often, but I will introduce it little by little.
Thank you for updating!
You can search for similar sounds. I will post a part that introduces the function of DAW LESSON's video.

But as you said, it's not perfect.
After all, if you don't have a good sample, you can't find a good sound, so it seems that many people will be satisfied with Loopcloud or Splice.
You can search for similar sounds for these two as well. It's slow because it's the cloud.
Thank you for your advice! !!
I will fix it.
That's right, it's slow.
It's a little difficult to use because it's slow, so I'm not using Loopcloud or Splice anymore.
I was just looking for a plugin that works well with COSMOS, but Loopcloud Drum is super good.
It has a kit generation function, and the patterns are genre-specific and easy to use, so it's a good idea.
The pattern of XO is not good, isn't it?
method.
The pattern is made by Stochas so far, so why not consider linking it with Loopcloud Drum?
It has 4 MIDI channels such as Stochas kick, snare and others, so it goes well with Bitwig. (You can do bad things with routing w)
However, you can use Stochas in the final stage, so if you can use it like a rough pattern sequencer, you might want to try it.
I see, that's how it's used.
I haven't used Stochas very deeply, so I'll try it.
(Actually, I was planning to write another article, but I have a busy past ...)
