I actually tried the tips of Cymatics' Production Book XNUMX

I'm yosi, the administrator of Chillout with Beats.

I didn't actually do it last time, so this time I actually tried it.

The original story is the contents of the free Production Book published by Cymatics.

Tips25: Play a melodic one-shot on your DAW's piano roll.

Try using Synth One Shot instead of Synth VST.To make this sound very different than when using a synth, start by rendering one shot of the synth's basic sound in a "C" note.

Then drag it into a sampler program (such as an Ableton sampler).Playing low notes slows down sample playback, and playing high notes speeds up sound.

Then play the same note via MIDI on the original synth. You will notice that the character of the sound is completely different from the resampled version.

This technique also gives you the opportunity to do audio-based sound design instead of compositing. This will always give you different results.

Another thing I want to do is try this out on an instrument recording, such as a guitar or a one-shot of a kalimba.

I also wrote how to reproduce it in FL Studio!

There are a few tips, but it's really good, so if you want a slightly different sound, please try it.

I feel like this.

As for the explanation of the video, the first thing that sounds is the FLEX preset.
(SoundToy's Little MicroShift is hanging by default ... I forgot to turn it off)

A sample of this preset single note recorded with Edison is played with the FL Sampler.
(Do you think it's a pretty usable sound?)

The last one is playing with Audio Damage Filterstation2 as a bonus.

Let's actually try it.

Prepare one shot (single note)

I chose the bass sound from FLEX this time.

The reason is that if you raise the pitch of the bass, the density will increase.

This time I will use one note for 4 measures.

Launch FLEX and click "808 Blasted" from "Movile Tuned 808 Bass".
(Other presets are fine)

Place the note in C4 for 4 measures.

The sound is like this.

Place the clip in Song mode.

2020 03 26 19x00 33

With the clip selected Ctrl + Alt + C Press.

The rendering screen will appear, so click "Start" as it is

2020 03 26 19x02 40

It will be rendered like this.

2020 03 26 19x03 21

Double-click the rendered clip.

It will be displayed as follows.

2020 03 26 19x04 18

Since ADSR cannot be adjusted as it is, load the Sampler that comes with FL Studio.

Drag and drop it onto the loaded Sampler.

Then in the next tab, set "Envelop" to "On" to minimize "Attack".

After that, set the root note.

If this is left as it is, the sound will be too low, so lower the root note and adjust it.

You can set it by opening the spanner tab on the far right and right-clicking on the keyboard.

Originally it is C5, so I think C2 is better in this case.

XNUMX Summary of Actually Trying Tips of Production Book of Cymatics

I thought again that I could make new sounds in various ways other than buying new ones.

I've tried different sounds, but it's also good for making Lo-Fi sounds.

I will write this in another article.
