Purchase and register Voltage Modular Ignite and use additional modules

This is yosi from Chillout with Beats.

All PSPI was worried about it and bought Ignite for the time being.
Well, I wanted to know the difference between Ignite and Core (Is it a premise to buy Core?)

So thatPlugin BoutiqueI will explain the flow and what you can do when you purchase at.

Flow after purchasing Voltage Modular Ignite

Click "MY ACCOUNT".

2019 08 23 00x08 48

Since the serial number is displayed, copy it.

Then click "DOWNLOAD".

2019 08 23 00x13 56

The Cherry Audio registration page will be displayed, so paste the serial you copied earlier and click "Redeem Product".

2019 08 23 00x32 23

When Voltage Modular is running, the following screen will be displayed, so click "Reflesh".
Even if you haven't started Voltage Modular, it will be displayed at startup.

The download will start when you buy it as shown below.

This area is really well made and easy and good.

This completes the upgrade to Ignite.

What you can do with Voltage Modular Ignite

Let's take a look at the presets first.

The number of presets for Ignite is increasing as a category.

2019 08 23 01x02 02

Click "All Prisets" to see a good amount of presets.

2019 08 23 01x03 39

When I looked at some presets, I saw the following masked display.

This is a module that works as a demo version and is not included in Ignite.

Click Info to see information about what bundle this module is in and what the price is.

2019 08 23 01x07 05

I checked all the presets, but I couldn't find any Poly presets.

However, it should be possible because there is a "Poly CV Converter" that can be done with Ignite.

So I made it.

Make a 4-note Poly synth with Ignite

Maybe there is an easier way, but I'll do it without trial and error.

Modules required for 4-note Poly synths

・ OSCILLATOR * 4
・ Filter * 4
・ ENVELOPE GENERATOR * 4
・ AMPLIFIER * 4

It may seem ridiculous, but it doesn't support Poly, so you need all four.

There is nothing particularly difficult, so I will omit the explanation.

It is the same except that you simply connect "MIDI" and "Poly CV Converter" and connect "KEYB CV" of each "PITCH CV" and "OS CILLATOR".

After that, I'm using "Six-Input Mixer" to put together the sounds.

I can't do it because it's a 4-tone poly.

2019 08 23 08x25 04

The point is to change the "number of voices" of "Poly CV Converter" according to the number of Poly.

If you do your best, you can use multiple "Poly CV Converters" to divide the MIDI channels, but you should still use Poly compatible modules.

Kick sound made with Voltage Modular Ignite

I will write a little before buying Core. (Because it seems that it will not be done after buying it ...)

Voltage Modular Ignite has a drum module, so I will explain it.

Below is the Google Translate of the manual.

DRUM OSCILLATOR

2019 08 23 08x53 26

The Cherry Audio Drum Oscillator module is a simple 3-waveform oscillator specifically designed to create vintage analog-style drum sounds. The pitch of the oscillator can be adjusted from 30 Hz to 1200 Hz and modulated via the CV Mod input.

Analog drum sounds are often created by modulating the oscillator pitch with a short envelope to mimic the "smack" of a drum.To create a simple kick sound, first set the pitch knob to a frequency around 60 Hz.Then patch the sine wave output to the input jack of the Amplifier module. Then add a percussion EG (Envelope Generator) module and patch its Env Out jack to the amplifier's CV In jack. Then connect the Trig jack in the CV Outs section of the I / O panel to the Trig In jack on the Perc EG module. Now you will hear a short tone when the key is pressed.Adjust the attenuation settings until you are concerned about the length of the drum.Next, add a second Perc EG module that will be used to create the pitch envelope. Patch the Env Out jack to the CV mod input of the drum oscillator and set the amount of CV mod to about 2%.Finally, connect the Trig In jack to the same Trig output on the I / O panel.

The title looks pretty specific, but this oscillator application goes far beyond creating drum sounds!Try using one of the waveform outputs as a ring modulation input, or use several instances as "operators" for FM synthesis patches.

Inputs, Outputs and Controls

CV Mod Jack and Attenuator-CV input for external control of the oscillator pitch. When the amount of CV Mod is 100%, the pitch of the oscillator is mapped to the entire keyboard at 1V / Oct like a typical Keyb CV input.

Pitch-Sets the oscillator frequency to 30 Hz to 1200 Hz.

To tune and play this oscillator with a traditional oscillator, you need to set the pitch to a frequency equal to one of the octaves of note C.

C1 = 32.70Hz
C2 = 65.41Hz
C3 = 130.81Hz
C4 = 261.63Hz
C5 = 523.25Hz

Waveform Output-Three separate outputs: sine, triangular, and square wave oscillators. These can be used in any combination at the same time and are all affected by the pitch knob and CV Mod input.

How to make a Kick sound

I prepared a video.

If you can understand it in general, please refer to here.

Since the envelope is important in Kick, I tried using "SLAP" which I got the Bate version last time in addition to the standard. (In the second half, I play a little and change the pitch from the sequencer)

Please refer to this article to obtain "SLAP".

Module to use
・ DRUM OSCILLATOR * 1
・ ENVELOPE GENERATOR * 1
・ AMPLIFIER * 1
・ Eight-Step Sequencer * 1
・ Vult Slap * 1
・ Crossfade (for listening) * 1
wiring

There is nothing particularly difficult.

Connect "OUTPUT" of "8-Step Sequencer" to "DRUM OSCILLATOR".

Next, connect the OUT of the sine wave of "DRUM OSCILLATOR" and the "INPUT" of "AMPLIFIER".

2019 08 23 09x25 37

Connect to "OUT" of "AMPLIFIER" and "1L (M)" of "MAIN OUTS".

2019 08 23 09x31 45

Connect "GATE OUT" of "8-Step Sequencer" to "GATE IN" of "ENVELOPE GENERATOR" and "GATE" of "Vult Slap".

Connect "ENV OUT" of "ENVELOPE GENERATOR" to "INPUT 1" of "Crossfade" and "OUT" of "Vult Slap" to "INPUT 2" of "Crossfade".

Connect to "OUT" of "Crossfade" and "CV IN" of "AMPLITER".

2019 08 23 09x33 59

Wiring is now complete.

Operation check

Click the play button of "8-Step Sequencer".

I think there will be a sound.

Change the speed of the sequencer with "RATE".

I will briefly explain "Crossfade".

If the connection is as per the above procedure, turn the "INITIAL BALANCE" knob to the left and the "DRUM OS CILLATOR" will sound in the "ENVELOPE GENERATOR" envelope.

Turn to the right to use the "Vult Slap" envelope.

2019 08 23 09x39 31

Now check the difference in sound depending on the envelope.

If you want to make a Kick sound for the time being, set it as follows.

Summary of purchase and registration of Voltage Modular Ignite and how to use the increased modules

After all, satisfaction is quite low in Ignite. (What you can do with Nucleus is not so different)

Since the logical operation system has been added, I will explain how to use this area, then purchase Core and explain it.

Anyway, now every day I'm worried about buying a full PSP ...
