Introducing u-he's serious free wavetable synth Zebralette3 Beta

Today we would like to introduce Zebralette 3 Beta, a free wavetable synth created by u-he.

I was thinking of waiting to write an article until the release, but since it seems like it will still take about 6 months until the release, I decided to write an article.

Even though it's a beta version, I didn't experience any problems with it as long as I changed the presets.
(It seems that various bugs occur when using the wavetabl editor)

And the quality is comparable to (and in some cases even surpasses) paid synth plug-ins.

If you are a fan of new things, I would like you to give it a try, keeping in mind that it is a beta version.

Please consider the possibility of incompatibility with the release version when using it.

There is a possibility of a crash, so please try starting, saving, and loading in your own environment first.

CPU load is much higher than Serum.

It varies depending on the preset, but I feel that the CPU load is about 1.5 to 2.5 times.

We will describe the current environment that should be noted in the bug report.

If you are using one of these environments, try it out and if it crashes, it is better to wait for the next beta or release itself.

Zebralette 3 Beta Overview

Zebralette 3 is the first big step in Zebra's next evolution.
Like its predecessor, Zebralette 3 combines a single Zebra oscillator with several modulation sources and effects, all wrapped in a fresh, modern, fully vectorized GUI.
Spline-based wavetable editor, up to 16 wavetable snapshots with various morphing options, 20 oscillator effect slots with over 2 effects to choose from, wavetable synthesis and additive synthesis The oscillator module alone has a world of its own, including a switchable audio engine.

Despite only having one oscillator, there's a lot to explore.
First and foremost is the extremely powerful spline editor, which allows you to easily shape waveforms and modulation signals using a wide variety of tools.
Create waveforms in seconds with the stamp tool, or spend hours painstakingly shaping and sculpting every detail of a wavetable snapshot and its morphing behavior.
Decide whether the wavetable represents the actual oscillator waveform or whether it will be used to shape the oscillator's spectrum.
Switch between normal wavetable mode and additive synthesis mode. Additive mode works with individual harmonics.
Further shape and modulate your sound with two oscillator effect slots.
You can export the wavetables you create (minus modulation and oscillator effects) for use in your favorite wavetable synthesizer.
Of course, Zebralette 3 is completely free.
