How to use Slicex from MATRIX of Reason Lite Rack Plugin

[themoneytizer id = "118573-1"]

I'm yosi, the caretaker.

I used to want to do it with Reason's Dr Rex, but I couldn't do it.

I remember being quite disappointed because I couldn't do a lot of research.

If it was combined with FL Studio now, I could do what I wanted to do with Slicex.

The point is that MATRIX just sends random notes to Slicex, but it's quite powerful.

This article will be sent with the following contents.

・ Sound Slicex from MATRIX
・ A little tip when playing Slicex

Sound Slicex from MATRIX

This is also easy, so I will explain it quickly.

Slicex settings

Slicex cannot receive MIDI notes directly from other sound sources.

So bite the Patcher.

First, load "Patcher".

Load "Slicex" in "Patcher".

Right-click on "From FL Studio" and click "Outputs"-> "Events"-> "MIDI port 0".

Connect the added port to "Slicex".

This completes the "Slicex" settings.

Reason Lite Rack Plugin side settings

Add the Reason Lite Rack Plugin.

First, right-click and click "Instruments"-> "MIDI OUT Device".

Next, right-click on "MIDI OUT" and add "MATRIX".
(Cables are automatically connected in this order)

I also prepared a GIF video for the time being.

Next, change the "MIDI" setting.

Set the "Output port" of "MIDI" to "0" from the gear icon on the upper left.
(If you combine it with the "Input port" that will be set later, there is no problem with anything other than "0".)

Now press the "MATRIX" play button and you will hear a sound.

A little tip when playing Slicex

There are some tricks to make it sound well, so I will explain that as well.

Settings on the MATRIX side

The start is fixed to C3, depending on the length of the loop loaded into Slicex.

Therefore, set the note with C3 or above before randomizing.

In the example below, each one is played once, but if there is a slice you want to play, add more scales.

If you have 16 or more slices in the loop, you should change "Steps" to "32".

I also prepared a video.

If you can do it to some extent, drag the red frame below to bring MIDI data.

Slicex settings

On the "Slicex" side, adjusting the attack and release will greatly reduce the noise.

Please watch the video below.

It's the way.

Click "Presets"-> "Vol – ADSR" from ▼.

Since it is difficult to explain the settings after this in words, I prepared a video.

Please adjust the last sustain level to your liking.

Summary of how to use Slicex from MATRIX of Reason Lite Rack Plugin

I was able to do something I wanted to do for many years.

With this, it seems interesting to shorten the release and skip it with Delay like Pluck, and it seems interesting to do it with a longer sample.

You can get Reason Lite Rack for free, but you can use it quite a lot.
