2020 Recommended Effects for XNUMX Reaktor User Library (with sound)

This is yosi, the caretaker.

I would like to introduce a good effect that was released if I noticed it.

We have carefully selected 2019 effects that seem to be good from XNUMX to the present.

MRX90

It looks good already, doesn't it?

And this developer, James Peck,VHS Audio Degradation SuiteI am also the developer of.

It's already a famous effect in the Reaktor User Library.

Brief commentary

The parameters are as simple as two, but they are fairly well made.

The blue knob on the left is noise, but the attack is picked up and the strength of the noise is added.

It also has a Gate function and is designed so that noise does not sound when nothing is sounding.

The knob on the right is Age (age), and it is designed to reduce the dynamics and high by Comp, Filter, Delay, and give the Wow effect.

Glitschko

It is a multi-effect that combines some typical glitch effects such as high pass filter, low pass filter, bit crusher, distortion, digital delay, roll & ping pong echo, scratch, tape stop, stutter.

This effect was designed with a focus on usability, especially in live performances. With just eight knobs and buttons, you can map to a MIDI controller without worrying about features or settings.

Brief commentary

Glitch and stutter effects with no fade-in / out.

To be clear, there is a lot of noise, but since there aren't many such noises these days, it may be rather valuable.

It's noisy to say it all, but I think there may be noise if you cut the high notes well with a Lowpass filter.

RX950Does a good job at such times.

Hershman Filter Tank

2020 09 23 22x37 33

This is a reproduction of the legendary Sherman filter bank.

All credits are from Kassian Troyer and his “heRman FiLterbank” ensemble is based on the Hirschman filter tank.He made his version 15 years ago and he still sounds great.

I designed the user interface and panel elements.

You can use it as it is or as a component part.

Brief commentary

This is modeled after the Sherman filter bank that was often seen in Sanreco in the past.

And actually, originally another person (kassian troyerSan) is makingUp in 2004It was done. (I'm surprised that it was so long ago)

I can't say anything because I don't know the actual machine, but honestly I don't know how to use it at all.

manualBut I think it can be read.

I played a little.

Another approach is emulation based on the KORG SDD 3000

This is the BETA version open for improvement.

LOG 0.1
The XL function is CPU intensive, but it is part of the sound design feature.
Email the bug report to jasper@pulsecraft.nl.

Brief commentary

This was uploaded a while ago, but I would like to introduce it because it is good.

Based on the KORG SDD 3000KORG SDD 3000 is UADIt was also made into a plug-in.

It's not exactly the same, but it's functionally great.

It has a filter and modulation and is recommended for Lo-Fi lovers.

VHS Dry / Wet / Gate function

2020 09 24 16x41 05

Added a gate to make the noise follow the input signal (I didn't like the noise always ringing in the original). Also, I added a general Dry / Wet to the FX part.

In this way, you can control how much you want the sound to be “degraded”.
It's not perfect, but I hope it helps someone.

Thanks to James Peck for doing a great job with the original VHS plugin.

Brief commentary

No, I know!It seems to be said, but it is actually different.

There is something unfamiliar on the right side, right?

2020 09 24 16x44 43

This is Gate.

Therefore, it is possible to avoid the situation where the noise that is common with Lo-Fi plug-ins keeps sounding and disturbing.

This will be super convenient.
