Frequency modulation is based on operator interaction.A minimum of two, called the modulator and the carrier, are always connected to each other.The modulator signal modulates the frequency of the carrier by a certain amount. FM2's matrix allows you to quickly connect any two operators and determine the amount of modulation for all connections.The matrix makes it easy to work with frequency modulation parameters.It also provides a concise overview of all FM connections so you don't have to flip through pages to collect parameter data for every sound.

Each operator has a detailed edit page where all parameters can be adjusted.Choose different waveforms, choose different ways to adjust the operator's frequency, control how it responds to MIDI velocity messages, set pan and amplitude, and more.Multiple modulation sources or different MIDI values such as aftertouch or mod wheel can be used to modulate the amplitude.The amplitude is shaped with a multi-breakpoint envelope.Add and remove breakpoints, set levels and control transitions.You can load a template or create your own shape.
Access all areas
The Operator Overview Page displays all of the operator's most important parameters at once.This provides a very quick and convenient way to set the basic structure of a sound or customize an existing sound.Each individual oscillator also has its own page, displaying all parameters and allowing fine-tuning of the sound.
Envelope overview
The Envelope Expert page provides the same functionality as the Operator Overview page.You can see the operator's envelope at the same time. You can edit one envelope and see the others at the same time. Multiple envelopes can be edited simultaneously by linking them to one or more groups.This allows the envelopes to share the same structure, which is very useful for synchronizing the amplitude progression of two operators, for example.You can also create one basic shape for multiple envelopes, unlink them, and then modify each one individually.This page also provides a graphical overview of all envelopes and thus the overall amplitude response of the sound.
Morphing sound
Morph Square lets you morph between four different sounds.Each corner represents one timbre.By moving the morph handle, you can gradually morph from one timbre to another.
