Challenge how much you can do with the free plan of Loopcloud 5
This is yosi from Chillout with Beats.
Added "Search for free samples 2"
Loopcloud 5 is pretty dangerous so I tried to see how much I could do for free.
Please refer to the article for the registration method and outline.
Good points to actually use
I summarized the points.
・ Search only for free samples and samples on hand
・ Only loops can be searched by dividing them into one shot only.
・ Get 1 free samples a day
・ Non-destructive editing presets are quite convenient (with some restrictions)
I will explain one by one.
GUI resizing
Well, you can change the screen size normally just like a normal application.
However, the knobs and font size are not changed, so it feels like a browser.
Search only with free samples or samples you have
You can also search for free samples and samples on hand individually.
I will explain how to do it.
Search for free samples 1
The great thing is that Loopcloud 5 has a Welcome Pack and samples that you can add for free.
You can search only with those samples.
Search for free samples 2
It seems that there are about 1 free sounds in one pack.
The taste is generally biased, so if you find a sample that you think is good, you can efficiently search for a free sample by going to the pack.
How to search from the sample on hand
You can search your library from the file name.
Let's add your own sample library in advance.
You can add it from "Add Samples ..." at the top right of the screen.
For example, enter "bass" in the search window and select "Library", "Downloaded File" and "WAV".
I also prepared a video.
Only loops can be searched by dividing into one shot only
This is also very easy.
You can switch between "Loops" and "One-shots" at the top of the screen. (Or both OFF)
Get 1 free samples a day
If you think about 1 times a day for 5 days x 365, you can get up to 5 samples.
To find it, enter "free" in the search window.
The "Free" tag will appear in "ADDITIONAL" as shown below, so click it.
If this is left as it is, a considerable number will appear in the search results, so it is good to narrow down by the genre or instrument you want. (Searching alone takes a considerable amount of time)
Even if I narrowed down to DubStep, there were 260 free samples.
When you find the sample you want, click "Free" on the right side and it will become a cloud mark and will be added to your account.
Five reset times a day seems to be around 1:5 noon in Japan time.
If you add a star in advance and register it in "FAVORITE", you can easily get 5 samples each day.
Click the hard icon to display "FAVORITE" when searching.
Non-destructive editing presets are pretty handy
This is really amazing.
Please take a look at this video.
One short base sample can change so easily.
This is a terrifying plug-in that allows you to arrange one sample without permission and even process effects just by changing the preset.
Moreover, you can use this function in your own sample and edit presets freely.
The only weaknesses are the inability to adjust effects and the inability to save presets.
(You can't adjust the pitch either)
Let's dig a little deeper into this non-destructive editing part.
How to use non-destructive editing
In particular, I didn't have this name, so I call it non-destructive editing.
When you use it, you can really understand various things,Beginners should introduce it as soon as possible.
I will explain from the basic part.
BPM:You can set the BPM by moving the cursor and dragging up or down. You can also enter a value by double-clicking. "X2" is twice the speed, and "/2" is half the speed. If you are working with a DAW, the DAW's BPM will be applied.
PITCH:You can change the Pitch automatically or manually. If you enable "AUTO", it will automatically match the keys below it.You can avoid the sound coming off by setting the key of the song you are making and enabling "AUTO". You can switch up and down by one octave by using "OCT".(Not available in the free version)
PATTERN:Load patterns from presets. You can send presets with "<" and ">" and return them. The icon next to it will randomly load a preset. Click "RESET" to return to the default. The free version cannot save patterns.
EDIT: EDIT:Here you can access all the ways to edit patterns.Shortcuts are set for most editing methods. The arrow icons are "Undo" and "Redo".
GRID:You can set the grid display (scale) when editing and whether to stick to the grid.
The top is 1/64 and the bottom is 1/16. How many scales are displayed in one bar.
TOOLS:You can also access it from "EDIT", but it is displayed as an icon for easy understanding.Shortcut Alt It is assigned to + numbers.
FX EDIT:If it's free, you can see what kind of effect is applied by looking inside.
(If it is the free version, you cannot edit it at all.)
There are only 6 types of effects, but there are many presets.
(The free version cannot change presets)
I took a video of the place I was editing.
It's pretty easy to edit.
Demo sound source
Samples are only those that I got for free with Loopcloud 5I tried to make something like Future Bass using.
Except for the vocal chops, I just lined them up ... it's scary.
Summary of how to use Loopcloud 5 that can be used for free
It's really pretty usable even for free.
Also, considering the free sample that you can get 1 times a day, this is enough to make a song.
However, many people use the fact that it is free, so I felt that it would be difficult to differentiate the sound unless it was built or charged to go one step further. (Sounds that can be used for free will dramatically increase the possibility of being used by other people)
