[Free] Introducing Carla, a multifunctional VST plug-in host
When I wrote an article about Pedalboard 2 the other day, I was told that there is a new one called "Carla", so I will introduce this as well. (Thank you for the information)
I don't understand it at all yet, but I think I can do quite a lot.
I think I'll write an article while doing a little research.
Overview
Carla is a full-featured modular audio plug-in host that supports many audio drivers and plug-in formats.
It has excellent features such as transport control, parameter automation by MIDI CC, and remote control by OSC.
Carla currently supports SF2 and SFZ files in addition to LADSPA (including LRDF), DSSI, LV2, VST3, VST2 and AU plug-in formats.
It uses JACK as the preferred audio driver by default, but it also supports native drivers like ALSA, DirectSound or Core Audio.

Download the file of the corresponding OS from the link below.
How to install
As with Pedalboard 2, no installation is required.
Execute "Carla.exe" of the following Path.
Carla-2.3-win64 \ Carla
Initial setup
Recent apps seem to pull the OS settings, and often make a sound without doing anything, but I will describe the location for the time being.
Audio settings
Click "Settings"-> "Configure Carla" in the menu
Click "Engine", select "ASIO" or "DirectSound" from "Audio driver", and change the driver settings with "..." on the right side.
Plugin Path settings
If you have a large number of plugins installed, it will take a long time.
In my case, I have installed a lot of demo versions, so I waited a long time ...
(It is troublesome because iLok will give an error while subscribing to Kush etc.)
To add Path, click "Settings"-> "Configure Carla" in the menu.
Click Plugin Paths, select VST2 from the menu, click Add and select the VST2 folder.

It feels a bit modular like "MIDI to CV", and I think I can do various things.
