Introducing Rebellion, a multi-band exciter equipped with 10 types of exciter algorithms from Fanan team

Today we would like to introduce Rebellion, an exciter plugin by Fanan team, a developer who takes an independent route.

Equipped with 10 types of exciter algorithms, you can obtain tonal changes that cannot be obtained with EQ.

Since the preset applies quite strongly, I think it would be easier to apply it lightly rather than using it as is.

Sound demo

First, I played the preset.

It's quite strong, and depending on the preset, there are level differences between the left and right sides, making it difficult to use as is.

I looked at the frequency characteristics.

I think you can see that it has changed quite radically.

What's a bit troublesome is that the change in frequency when you change the percentage is non-linear in a bad way, so it's better to make adjustments by ear and by using the graph.

However, since it has a frequency characteristic that cannot be created with normal EQ, I think it is a special plug-in that you will become addicted to.

For example, although it is quite simple, if you set 12KHRZ to 7% and GAIN to 20 using the RO-25 algorithm, you will get the following frequency response.

The sound is like this. (I changed the GAIN to 30 to make it a little easier to understand)

Note that changing the TUBE parameter will create a difference between the left and right sides, creating an effect similar to summing.

Overview

Rebellion is a multi-bend exciter processor that offers 10 different exciter emulations ranging from bright to dark, with an emphasis on presence and sibilance (bright algo), muffling and bluering (dark algo). Easily bring out the high-end juice from moody vocals and guitars, as well as dark, creamy drums and bass. The sound is soaked into each of eight fixed frequency bands separately, the ``tone'' function determines the shape of the sound, and the ``tube'' section adds saturation and warmth.
