Introducing Thump One, a monosynth sound source equipped with the optimal engine for Kick
A while ago, I saw that ToyboxAudio was starting to develop VST, so I was curious about it, and it has finally been released.
ToyboxAudio is a developer who makes expansion packs for Reaktor Block.
I have written an article before.
(This is an old article, so I feel like it needs some maintenance.)
It is written that Lead can also be used, but since the sustain level cannot be adjusted, it is not suitable for Lead.
(Decay can be raised, but the volume will be attenuated)
I think bass is also a little difficult to use for anything other than short sounds.
As for Kick, it is by far the best for free.
The CPU load is quite high, so it's best to freeze it after creating the sound.
How to freeze FL Studio is explained here.
Sound demo
I tried playing the preset.
I tried playing the Kick preset.
I think there are few Kick sound sources that can be edited to this extent, even if they are paid.
The sound changes considerably depending on the pitch you play, so it's a bit of a hassle to match it.
The only disappointing thing is that it is troublesome to set the pitch an octave lower or higher from the plug-in.
There are times when the preset is clearly too high/low, so I change the pitch using MIDI notes.
There is a pitch parameter, but it moves to the decimal point, so it is very difficult to use.
Overview
Thump One is an easy-to-use music synthesizer plug-in with a fun glitchy "wavetable" engine and a flexible multi-segment envelope bank to shape your sounds at will.Perfect for powerful kick drums, huge club basses, and soaring leads.
This synthesizer features two powerful engines that can be layered to create a variety of complex sounds and textures. The Kick engine features a wavetable oscillator made from clean sounds and analog kick drum sounds. The Kick engine has a high quality saturation and filtering circuit, and an additional 'Buzz' circuit allows you to add buzzy effects like a 'broken speaker cone'. The second engine, ``Layer,'' uses an exact model of the ``Supersaw'' oscillator found in the Roland JP2 synthesizer. This oscillator has selectable behaviors that allow you to set the oscillator to play in intervals and add varying amounts of cross modulation to create noisy retro synth sounds, fuzzy glitches, or just plain noise. There is a mode.

Summary
It's pretty good as a Kick sound source.
If it is free, there is no Kick sound source that can be edited to this extent.
It's at a level where it's not strange to have to pay for it.
Honestly, I think it would have been better to use a dedicated Kick sound source.
I'm really looking forward to ToyBox's future activities as they have even released a plug-in.
