Introducing Infernal Synth, an open source semi-modular synth sound generator
Today I would like to introduce the open source semi-modular synth sound engine Infernal Synth.
A great one has arrived.
It is no exaggeration to say that the sound is comparable to paid sound sources.
The drawback is that there are too many parameters and the signal flow is hard to understand.
The CPU load is intuitive, but it feels about the same as recent synth sound sources such as Serum.
Sound demo
There are few presets, so I edited a little.
You can load presets from "Factory presets" by right-clicking.
Overview
InfernalSynth is a free and open source semi-modular software synthesizer and audio effects plugin.
It is currently only available as a VST3 plugin and comes as separate binaries for instrument and effect modes.
In instrument mode, InfernalSynth is a polyphonic synthesizer, with the combined output of all voices routed through a global effects bank.
In effects mode, the voice generator is not used, instead the external audio source is routed through the same global effects bank.

Download
You can download it without registration.
Go to the above link and click "release" at the top (latest) to start downloading.
Installation
When you unzip the file, there are two folders of "Generic" version and "Versioned" version.
Install in the following VST3 foldereither oneIt's ok if you put it in the folder.
C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ VST3
Each one is different, but you can choose which one to install depending on the purpose.
The differences are as follows.
InfernalSynth ships as different binaries for Generic and Versioned releases. All Generic builds have the same VST3 plugin ID. All Versioned builds have different VST3 plugin IDs (and thus are effectively different plugins from the host's perspective).
Use the Generic build if you can load older projects with newer plugin versions, get bugfixes automatically, and don't mind breaking changes.
By using the upgraded build (recommended), you can continue working without worrying about changes.Newer versions of plugins can work side-by-side with older versions.
Supplement.
"Generic" version
It has the same plugin ID even if the version changes.
Therefore, even if you upgrade the version, you can open the past project.
However, if there is a change in parameters, etc. due to version upgrade, it may not work properly.
It doesn't take much effort, but there is some risk.
“Versioned” version
Each version has a different plugin ID and name.
If you install a VST3 file to upgrade the version, the new and old will coexist without being overwritten.
(Because the name and plug-in ID are different)
The advantage is that past projects can be opened reliably.
However, there is a disadvantage that management is troublesome because it increases with each version upgrade.
Summary
It is still in development, but it is a synth sound source that can be expected quite a lot.
The point is that it can be used as an effect.
Currently there are few presets, but it is expected to increase in the future.
I think it will spread all at once when the preset browser and presets are available.
