Overview

Over the past few years, I've been developing VST plug-ins to teach students how to manipulate delay lines to function as Mod FX, pitch shifters, synthesizers, and more.Over time, I found myself using this plugin in many “real world” scenarios, so I decided to release it.

Its name is Trailbender.Instead of calling it a delay, I like to think of it as a tool that serves three purposes:

Help students understand how some effects are achieved;
Have a sound designer design delay-based effects;
Provides non-specialist mix engineers with a simple but honest delay-based effect (available as a preset).

Features
Characteristics include the following:

Many units for time parameters;
Many modulation waveforms including custom external signals (external sidechain must be enabled in advanced settings);
Many saturation “flavors”;
Saturation and filters can be applied before DDL, after DDL, or in the feedback loop;
Dry/Wet Lock (useful when browsing presets);
Mute button (more useful than bypass when using the plug-in with a send);
“Comments” space for taking notes that are saved along with the state of presets and plugin instances.
Trailbender has a lot of parameters, so we tried to help the user by only “lighting up” the knobs that affect the sound.In addition, blue is used for parameters that affect the stereo image.

Finally, the most geeky settings are available in the "Advanced" section, accessed by clicking the little arrow in the top right corner of the information display.Additionally, the tooltip system allows you to learn how to use the plugin without a user manual.

Installation

For Win, there is an installer, so you can just install it with the default settings.
