Introducing mucoder's unusual MIDI arpeggiator Hypercyclic.
I used it a little while ago, but at that time I didn't know how to use it and left it for a long time.
Hypercyclic is 2007KVR Developer ChallengeIt is a plug-in that won the second place in.
It's a really old plugin, but I found Hypercyclic updated, so it was pretty good to use it for a while.
The mechanism of Hypercyclic is the same as Cthulhu and Phasebox, and it works like an arpeggiator when chord progressions are input by MIDI.
We have prepared the following chord progressions.
With Hypercyclic, it looks like this.
It is also possible to create a fairly complex rhythm.
Overview
What is Hyper Cyclic?
An LFO-driven MIDI arpeggiator, gate effect, and step sequencer.
For processing MIDI input sustain chords
The output can drive other MIDI instruments.
Works as a DAW VST or Audio Unit plug-in, or as a standalone application.
The original hypercyclic finished second in the KVRAudio.com Developer Challenge '07.
Hypercyclic sweet spots are a narrow border between chaos and regularity. In other words, it's a way to realign everything at bar or beat boundaries, while inducing some sort of pleasing randomness and syncopation. How do you use it?
The main use of hypercyclic is to generate MIDI that can be recorded and sent to other plug-ins.However, it also has a built-in simple synthesizer for testing.
Two tempo-synchronized LFOs can be used to modulate various parameters to create interesting rhythm effects and chord variations.
As a unique feature, it is possible to modulate the step size of the sequencer itself, which is effective in creating a glitch-like stutter effect.
You can also use the groove function to play a little off the beat.Groove parameters can be varied over time with an LFO to increase rhythm variation.
Download
You can download it without registration.
Go to the link above and click on the OS file you are using from the "download" section. (It seems to be 64bit VST and AU only)
Installation (Win)
To install, just put the "hypercyclic.dll" that appears when you unzip it into the VST2 folder.
"Hypercyclic.exe" is a standalone version, so it has nothing to do with installation.
How to make a sound using an external sound source
First, start the sound source you want to sound "hypercyclic".
The sound source can be used for free "VitalI will explain using.
Vital settings
Start "Vital".
Set "Input port" to "0" from the gear icon on the upper left.
hypercyclic setting
For "hypercyclic", set "Output port" to "0" from the gear icon on the upper left.
Change "midi in" and "midi out" of "hypercyclic" to "VST host".
All you have to do is play the chord with "hypercyclic" and change the preset.
Summary
It's a great plugin.
There is no problem even if it is sold for a fee.
I would like to write an article on how to use this as well, but first I will use EC-300 once moreBYODI will write the article first.
