To be honest, I bought it because it's cheap even if it's not on sale, but it's a half price sale.

It is a plug-in that appears almost every time I play an effect in the sound demo on this blog.

I also write how to use it.

Even a 1dB increase will make the sound more powerful.

If you don't match the gain, you can't judge whether you really like the change in sound caused by the plug-in.

Sound demo

I think that it is a compressor as an effect that is easy to get stuck if the gain is not matched.

Since the volume decreases when the compressor is applied strongly, it is easy to raise the volume more than the original volume.

As a result, the volume will be louder than before, and you will be mistaken for a powerful sound.

In order to make it easier to understand, I tried to ring it strongly.

First of all, I tried playing while turning on and off without worrying about the volume.

When set to On, it feels rough and energetic.

Doesn't it sound disappointing when you turn it off?

I tried playing it with gain matching.

At first it is on, then off (bypass) and on and off are repeated.

How is it?

When it's on, you can't feel the momentum at all, and you can see that the kick has become weak.

Overview

Gain Match – Easily compare your mixes before and after using the plugin.
"GainMatch" is LetiMix's versatile and easy-to-use tool that everyone should have. You can easily compare your mix before and after using the plug-in and get a clear picture of what works for your track.

Usage scenario

Get rid of plugins that don't improve the sound
Use as an autoleveling tool
Use as a meter to adjust plug-in output
Used in Left <-> Right mode to get the perfect balance for hard-panned tracks.
When used in "Target Loudness" mode, you can set the track to the desired loudness.
It can be used to test compressors, saturation effects, etc. to maintain the same output level.
No more plug-in reviews or excuses for before-after comparisons without matching levels. Now it's super easy!

Make instant decisions about what's better, not bigger
“GainMatch” is a gain knob with a “twist”.There are two basic modes of operation:

A.Two instances: Match the loudness of 'Before' <-> 'After'.
B. One Instance: Matching to Desired Target Level (RMS or Peak)
There are meters/buttons for manual gain matching and an 'auto' mode for 'hands-free'.

A "Listen before" button allows you to easily compare and mix the signal before and after.

On the left you will see a knob for setting the desired loudness level. Now you'll be comparing your audio to this level (no need for the "before" plugin this time, as the "before" plugin always says "loudness is -18").

Note that this is average loudness, not peak level.Click on the “Correction” button or activate the “AUTO” mode and adjust to the desired level.

RMS" allows you to switch to "Peak" mode, in which GainMatch can be used as a real-time "normalizer" to match the highest peak to a set target peak value.

It also has many cool features such as:
Control the “before” input gain inverse to the “after”
Mixing of "before" and "after" signals
One-click automatic delay compensation
Variable RMS time and filtering
Adjustable auto gain with gain tolerance that ignores slight level changes
Matching "after" and "before" or vice versa (while listening).
Stereo, Left, Right, Mid, Side mode (Right vs. Left channel comparison, Mid/Side balance control)
In neutral mode, it can be used as a normal gain knob (+-40db range).
Trim control provides +-150dB range
Optimized CPU usage
Ability to automatically select group and mode when inserting
Target loudness mode for matching reference loudness or peak level
User interface
Right-clicking (or hovering and pressing 'D') on the control resets it to the "default" value.Depending on the control, right-clicking may also bring up a context menu.
Double-click to enter a value.
You can hover over and use the mouse wheel or arrow keys to adjust in "steps". Hold down the Shift key to make fine adjustments.
