Valhalla Super Massive, the free and strongest delay and reverb, has been updated to version 1.5.

It's really free and it feels like it's just amazing.

Then, I will explain the contents of the update immediately.

This article will be attached to the introduction article of Valhalla Super Massive later, so please do not link it.

Please refer to the following articles for the download method and outline.

Explanation of the modes added in Valhalla Super Massive v1.5

Overview

The Supermassive 1.5.0 update adds two new reverb modes, Orion and Cassiopeia. These are "strange" reverb algorithms based on a highly extended extension of Michael Garson's feedback delay network theory. Both Orion and Cassiopeia sound fairly sparse in the early days of Decay, but you can quickly increase the echo density by setting the Density control to a non-zero setting. The Density control also has a significant effect on the reverb decay, with higher densities resulting in very long decay regardless of the Feedback setting.

The newly added modes are Orion and Cassiopeia.

Explanation of the two added modes

Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia is the "smaller" of the two algorithms. In general, Cassiopeia gives shorter decay and echo patterns compared to Orion. My favorite setting is to set Warp to 2% and use Density and Feedback to get an echo with a noticeable pulse on every 0th repeat. This song uses two instances of Cassiopeia. One is a sparsely started and gradually darkening reverb, and the other is a pulsed repetitive echo.

I tried to ring it with a snare.

Orion

Orion is "twice as big" as Cassiopeia in the hood, but the result is a much longer reverb and echo than Orion, due to some of the laws of reverb physics that are mysterious to me. increase. If you set Orion to the same settings as Cassiopeia above, you will get a mysterious echo with a pronounced pulse on every 2th repeat. Increasing the Warp and Density values will give you a really huge modular reverb that lasts for more than a few minutes. Here's an example of using one instance of Orion to get a long modulated looping echo.

I also tried playing the snare.

This is good.

Summary

This is awesome, and the feeling of overwhelming other free delays and reverbs is horrifying.

There are few developers who make such a solid update even with paid plugins.

ModerateValhalla DelayBut maybe I should buy it.

But to put it strangely, I think Valhalla's plug-in of $ 30 would sell twice as much as it does now.

I feel that paying $ 50 for a single effect is quite a hurdle.
(Maybe many people have the same feeling)

If it's a good plug-in for $ 30 and it comes with an app, it will lower the super hurdle, so I think it will sell stupidly.

In my case, if it's $ 30, I'm sure I'll buy two or three more.

That said, I don't sell or cut prices, so I won't change the price, and that's a good thing, so I have to buy it for $ 50.
