Overview
This is yosi from Chillout with Beats.
It's been about a month since I bought Surface6.I took it with me when I went out and tried DTM at the cafe.
While doing that, one problem arose.
When I open a FL Studio 20 project created at home when I go out, the CPU load is high and I can't play it properly.
After investigating various things, I found that the cause was that the CPU clock was low when the battery was running.
I thought that it would be because it operates in the power saving mode when the battery is driven by the Windows setting, but I checked the settings, but all the settings were the same when the AC adapter was connected and when the battery was driven.
When I googled it unavoidably, the settings that were displayed in the Windows 8 era are no longer displayed. Therefore, I changed the registry so that it could be displayed, but there was no difference between when it was battery-powered and when the AC adapter was connected.
Symptom (CPU clock drops when running on battery)
I took a video. The AC adapter is disconnected from the state where the AC adapter is connected.
The CPU usage rate on FL Studio is about 30%, but it rises to about 70% as soon as the AC adapter is removed.
solution
There are two types of solutions.
However, Solution 1 is not very effective, soSolution 2 is recommended.
Solution 1
Control panel settings
First of all, make sure that you are in "High Performance" mode in the control panel settings. However, this setting alone does not eliminate the decrease in the CPU clock when running on battery power. You need the following tools.
Click the Cortana icon next to the Windows icon in the bottom left.
Enter "Power Options" here. Then, the following search results will be displayed.
Click Edit Power Plan.
Make sure it is "High Performance" as shown below.
It will be the story on Windows10 64bit version. If you are using other Windows, the screen may be different.
Solution 2 Use ThrottleStop
Rely on tools
"ThrottlestopI solved it with a tool called.
If you put it in immediately and try it, the clock will rise.
The procedure is simple.Download and run.
- Check "Speed Shift -EPP".
- Set to "Turn On".
that's all.
The settings etc. were explained here in a very easy-to-understand manner.
The story goes awry, but personally on Surface 6The most cost-effective peripheral accessory is the cable fastening using Nume skin.
I searched for velcro and screw rods because they are not cool.
This leather cable closure is perfect for the Surface 6 power cable.
A set of 4 [including shipping] is 1,200 yen including tax.
It's perfect and you'll be surprised when you use it. (Blue is calm and easy to use for business)
Also, this is pretty good for women. (Women love these small items, don't they?)
If you are using Nume skin in your wallet, you can match the color or use the opposite color for the best effect.
(If it's bluish, it's not the opposite color of yellow or orange, but if it's black, red is good.)
Surface 6 has only one USB port, which is inconvenient, but I found a super-discount USB HUB that fits perfectly with Surface 6.Please take a look if you like.
Summary
If you feel slow when running on battery, look at your Windows settings and if that doesn't help, rely on the tools.
According to Microsoft support, recent CPUs are complicated due to power saving and integration with GPU.
Perhaps it cannot be changed from the Windows settings. (Many users should be able to use it for a long time when it is battery-powered.)
