I think a blind test is necessary for both rabbits and horns.
(Speaking of greedABX testIs good)
I don't think we can be aware of human prejudice.
It is said that 8% of the information received by humans is visual.
Therefore, you should check the difference with a blind test that eliminates the gain-matched visual information and adopt the better one.
Since FunkyABX is web-based, it is convenient to use it when listening to and comparing multiple mixes with band members, or to use it as a dominant sound on SNS.
If you want to compare listening only in your own environment, HOFA 4U + Blind Test, which allows you to perform a blind test with a plug-in, is convenient.
I also wrote how to use it in the following article, so please also check it out.
Funky ABX overview
Get people to rank and identify your favorite compressors, saturation plug-ins, instruments ... and even the entire mix.
Since it is web-based, it can be used very much for the purpose of having other people do a blind test.
There is already a demo and you can try it out.
The good thing about FunkyABX is that you can automatically adjust the AB switching time, and you can switch seamlessly with a click.
And you can create a test without registering for now.
How to make an ABX test with Funky ABX
To create your own ABX test, click "New test" from the menu on the upper right.
Since there are a few setting points, I will explain each item.
Test type
You can set the test type.
Check the "Ranking" checkbox to have the test ranked, and the "Recognition" checkbox to guess which track is what.
If you just want to compare listening, select "No test, only listening".
It doesn't support ABX testing at this time, but it's likely to be implemented soon.
Info
Set the basic information.
The only required item is "Title".
Visibility
If you want anyone to see it, check "The test is public".
Tracks
Name the "Name" and select the file to upload from "Select File".
Since "Name" is displayed, I think a simple name such as "A" or "XNUMX" is good.
The file formats that can be uploaded are wav, mp3, aac, flac, and wav is automatically converted to flac.
You can increase the number of comparison tracks by clicking "Add a track".
(I tried it, but I was able to increase it to 16 tracks)
When all is done, click "Create test" at the bottom right to create the test.
At this time, if it is Wav, it will take several minutes to complete the conversion.
(If there are many tracks, it will take more time, so please wait)
Your test
A link will be generated when the conversion is complete.
Contact the person who wants you to test the "Test public page" link.
The "Test edit page" is the link you use when you want to edit a test.
You can edit using this link.
Summary
It's very good because it's web-based and easy to set up.
It seems to be good when asking someone other than yourself to make a decision or having them compare on SNS.
