This month's purchase bonus, the upgrade from Motion: Harmonic Lite to the FULL version, is on sale.

The Lite version is a little lacking, but the FULL version suddenly increases the number of parameters that can be set.

This is a really well thought out plug-in and you can feel the ingenuity in various places.

If you want to make thorough edits, we recommend the FULL version.

Sound demo

I tried playing the preset.

In a good way, I get the impression that there are more flashy sounds than the Lite version.

What's great about Motion: Harmonic is that the presets are divided into "Path & CURSOR" and "FX & MAPPING."

"Path & CURSOR" stores movements, and "FX & MAPPING" stores effect settings and mapping.

Therefore, you can change the preset effect settings while keeping the movement the same.

Of course, you can also save only the "Path & CURSOR" that you edited.

I took a video of changing the "FX & MAPPING" preset after first setting "Path & CURSOR".

Overview

Upgrade Notes: This is an upgrade for those who have Motion.Harmonic Lite: This is an upgrade for those who have a Harmonic Lite. The full version of Motion: Harmonic is also available.

Motion: Harmonic breaks new ground in distortion, filtering, and bit-crushing, putting you at the center of a dynamic and responsive sound-shaping experience.

What can motion do? What you can do with harmonic

Convert loops into evolving phrases.
Design tension with expressive filter sweeps.
Distort drum hits with unique characters.
808, kick, and bass harmonics enhanced.
Create morphing textures and atmospheres.
Enliven guitar and synth melodies.
Add movement and rhythm to your pads
Experiment with sound design using your mouse
Visualize audio with 3D reactive objects

The innovative, reactive Hexagon controller animates the transformation of audio signals for a visually-driven creative experience.

From delicate warming and shaping to destroying your signal with intense modulation, Motion: Harmonic puts everything you need at your fingertips. Comprehensive parameters for distortion, bitcrush, and filtering take these effects into new creative realms, and tools like multi-peak filters and dynamic distortion offer new ways to play with your sounds.

Alongside a pulsating, responsive 3D object in the main view, Hexagon provides six macro sliders that can be assigned to control the plugin's effect parameters. These sliders respond to a "magnetic" cursor whose trajectory can be recorded by mouse movements or drawn graphically.

Hexagon reactive animation
Refining the traditional XY pad concept to a new dimension, the hexagonal control area is Motion's primary feature: Harmonic lets you create reactive controls by pushing and pulling six macro sliders together. enables creative expression.

The six sliders act as macro controls for all distortion, filtering, and modulation parameters within the plug-in. The slider itself is moved by a magnetic field surrounding the mouse cursor. Cursor movement can be played live, recorded, or pre-programmed, and can be controlled with a wide range of sync and playback options. Furthermore, by assigning an effect parameter to the center of the hexagon, its characteristics will be modulated by the incoming audio level.

make movement
Motion within the hexagon can attract or repel the macro slider, magnetic fields can be customized in range and strength, and macro slider behavior can be modified using hold and release timing parameters. Motion trails can be created and played in a variety of ways.

Paths can be freely recorded using the mouse cursor, or designed using drawing and editing features. Once you record a pass with your mouse, you can preview and trim the recording to hone your ideal pattern. Path design is fully customizable, allowing you to create, edit, and delete points, as well as create curved lines between points.

Once the path shape is complete, you can freely set playback and triggers in the timeline. Playback can be looped or triggered from your DAW, and playback direction can be set to forward, backward, or pendulum. Playback can be synchronized to the DAW's tempo, or paths can be run in milliseconds, and the speed at which the cursor moves through the path is variable, allowing you to speed up or slow down during playback.

For example, you can record slow, deliberate movements with your mouse, then speed them up into flashy triggers. Or you can turn a static loop into a constantly evolving pattern throughout the song by carefully designing a complex movement using points and curves and setting it to play very slowly.

Bit crusher flavor deterioration
Set the bit depth and sample rate to reduce signal fidelity and emulate the hardness and feel of early digital systems. Raise the Dynamic control to focus the bitcrusher effect on transients. You can also use the Lo and Hi sliders to focus the effect on specific frequency bands, leaving the rest of the audio spectrum unaffected.

Bitcrusher can be pre-filtered, allowing you to roll off the lows and highs before bit-crushing to improve signal clarity. You can also adjust destructive effects and blend back the original signal with the mix controls.

Heat with distortion feedback
Set your desired distortion flavor with the Drive and Tone controls, and smoothly switch between tape, tube, and fuzz algorithms with the Character dial. You can also use the Dynamic parameter to weight the distortion's response to input signal transients, or to focus the distortion effect on specific frequency bands.

Motion Harmonic's distortion section also has a feedback control, which adds a distortion effect with a ringing feedback loop. There's also a Mix control and Low/High input filtering.

Toggle between the distortion and bit crushing visualizers to see the real-time effect your settings have on your wet signal, and compare the output to your dry signal.

Filtering highlights and sculpting
Motion: When modulated with Harmonic's Hexagon controller, high-pass and low-pass filters with control over frequency, slope, and resonance provide everything from softening distortion and slow undulating effects to rhythmic sweeps and chops. . Filter effects can be placed before or after the Bitcrushing and Distortion modules.

The Peak Filter lets you dial in banks of symmetrical peaks and notches to recreate complex audio effects like spectral resonance and shifting phaser sounds. You can increase the number of peaks with the No. control, and change the peak position and shape with the Frequency and Q controls. Contrast and Invert switches add even more flexibility and customization to how you use this unique module.
