Introducing the Waldorf Micro Q Emu Vavra

I had a little time today, so I was able to verify the operation of the "Micro Q" emu "Vavra", which I had been interested in for a long time, so I would like to introduce it.

Waldorf's Q-serieswas released in 1999 and says "Micro QIsQ seriesReleased in 2000 as a cheaper version of

そのQ seriesThis is the "Vavra", which is the low-priced version of the "Micro Q" emu.

As far as I have researched, "Micro Q" is a low-priced version that greatly reduces the hardware part of the Q series, and I think that the software is almost the same.

Sound demo

As expected, it is a digital sound source 20 years ago, so excessive expectations are prohibited.

I think that it will probably have a more edgy sound if it is hard.

Also, when changing presets, sometimes it doesn't change, maybe it's a bug.

I played an ARP type sound.

I did some editing while playing it.

The feeling of the filter is good as expected from Mr. Waldorf.

Overview

The DSP emulator project was not started for financial reasons, it is a project of passion and curiosity. If there's one blemish we've taken from a company that hasn't lived up to our expectations, it's to find that our level of enthusiasm to officially bring these synthesizers back is not shared. We have decided it is the right time to announce the current state of our negotiations with Micro Q emulation.Unfortunately, we have not been successful in securing the ability to release an official version with Waldorf. As any current emulator user knows, the emulation process can require additional system resources. The amount of system resources required to run a software synthesizer will always be a big factor in determining whether it will survive a release. The progress we see in the performance of our public emulators is a testament to our dedication to providing the best possible experience. For those of you who don't know, our emulation allows us to achieve the same performance as regular software synthesizers. This can be done while keeping the output exactly the same as the real hardware.we haven't done this yet.Because it only benefits a single emulation and has few reusable refinements. The optimization will depend on how the synthesizer was programmed, so it will be tailored to a single emulation.

This puts us in a state of discussion to make a final version of the emulation we've been working on.Without complete knowledge of how the synthesizer works, it would be incredibly difficult for us alone to bring this emulation closer to the performance of a native software synthesizer. That would require mods to which we currently do not have the right. For example, driving in the dark with the headlights off, not only trying to find a solution, but going the wrong way. This is not a realistic action for us, nor is it the action we choose to take.We want to overwhelmingly prove that the emulator is viable so that the official version can exist, but at the same time our inability to work in an official capacity limits our ability. increase. We feel our hands tied on this subject and don't know how to proceed independently from here.

Download

You can download it without registration.

You need to download emulator and ROM.

If you move from the above link and click the link of the corresponding OS, the download will start.

For normal Win, download "DSP56300Emu-1.2.36-win64-Vavra-VST3.zip".
(Since the version may increase, please look for the win64-Vavra-VST3.zip part without worrying about the numbers in the middle)

Then download the ROM file.

Go to the above link and click "sounds" and "system" to download.

Installation

First install the emulator.

Unzip the downloaded file "Vavra.vst3" and put "Vavra.vst3" in the VST3 folder.

C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ VST3 \

At this time, it is a good idea to create a folder called "Waldorf Q" and put it in.

Next, unzip "System.zip" and put "mq_2_23.mid" in "mq_2_23.zip" into the above folder.

Then unzip "Sounds.zip", unzip "factory_sounds_2000.zip" and "factory_sounds_2001.zip" for the time being, and put "microq_factoryset_2000.mid" and "mQ_factory2001.mid" inside the above folder.
(Banks are also included in the other three compressed files, so if you like them, let's put them in.)

Notes for FL Studio users

In my environment, FL Studio crashed, but when I enabled "Make bridge", it stopped crashing.

If you have similar symptoms, please try it.

Summary

What a wonderful emu.

Editing is easy because the GUI is much easier to use than the hardware.

However, I think that users will buy it if it is released for a fee, but what do you think?
