[Free] Introducing CHOW Tape, a plug-in that physically models an analog tape machine
I'm yosi, the maintainer of Chillout with Beats.
This is recommended.
There is also a MAC version.
Interestingly, this plugin was created in a Stanford University class project.
Of all the free Lo-Fi effects I've tried recently, it's by far the best.
It is like this.
However, sometimes one of the channels will beep, but it will not be possible if "Fixed Buffer" is set to "On".
I also described how to deal with that.
Overview of CHOW Tape
This repository contains academic papers on signal processing systems that perform real-time physical modeling of analog tape machines, along with their corresponding computer simulations and implementations.
This work is part of a Music 420 class project at Stanford University (CCRMA).
How to download CHOW Tape
There is a ZIP file on the GitHub page, so you can download it and insert the DLL and VST3 files manually with the installer.
CHOW Tape noise avoidance method
If you try to use it as it is, it will suddenly be in the following state.
As a workaround, check "Processing"-> "Use fixed size buffers" from the gear icon on the upper left of the plugin.
I think this can be avoided.
[Free] Summary of introduction of CHOW Tape, a plug-in that physically models an analog tape machine
It's amazing that this is free.
It is good that the parameters are not ordinary and there are many variations in the changes.
It seems that there are other plugins, so if there is something that looks good, I will introduce it again.
