Vengeance Sound VPS Avenger Synth Thorough Review
You can see what kind of soft synth VPS Avenger is by watching the video below.
Personally, Avenger is overwhelmingly recommended for making trendy music such as EDM.
・ People who want to easily create phrases with presets
・ People who want to edit and create sounds
・ People who give priority to shortening time even if they pay a little
Serum, sylenth1, NEXUS3, MassiveX, Omnisphere 2, etc., which are often recommended for EDM music, are available.Avenger is good for DTM beginners.
Reason"SequenceAs I wrote in "", this is because the sequence including the genre-specific rhythm is prepared from the beginning.

This review includes the following:
I will mainly review this area.
PluginBoutique has a sale and RentToOwn has started!
In short, this is a system that allows you to pay in installments, and if you pay 1424 yen (somewhat fluctuates depending on the exchange rate) monthly for 12 months, you can get a regular license.
Of course, you can use it from the start of payment, so it is a real installment payment.
It's a great system, but there are two caveats.
-Purchase benefitscan't get
If you cancel RentToOwn in the middle, you cannot resume it in the middle.
(It seems that it will be possible to pause and resume soon.)
Purchase benefits cannot be obtained at present, so you need to be careful about that as well.
(This also seems to be repaired so that it can be obtained in the future)
How to buy on RentToOwn
There is nothing particularly difficult, but click "Rent To Own"
I think that "Billing Information" is already included for those who have already shopped.
Then, the payment amount is displayed as "$ 12" divided by 10.73.
After that, you can purchase by selecting Paypal or credit card and clicking "BUY".
You can purchase it now.
Basic specifications of Vengeance Sound VPS Avenger Synth
It feels like it's packed as much as it can.It takes a long time to understand each function.

MIDI learn
I tried to compare the sound without any effect with Massive X and spectrum analyzer.
It looks like the treble is different, butWhen I listen to it, I feel that Massive X has a completely different bass.
I feel that the sound is a little retracted. This may be easy to mix with the orchestra, but when it is a single unit, it feels like listening through a thin glass.
Yellow is VPS Avenger and blue is Massive X.
I will also put a sound for the time being.
The first half is VPS Avenger, the middle is Massive X, and finally Sektor is also included.
It can also be identified by Mp3.
Sektor has the lightest sound. (It can't be helped from the price)

Measure CPU and memory load.
The CPU is Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz.
It's a fairly old PC, but I think it's about the same as the latest notebook PC.
The top is before starting Avenger, and the bottom is after starting.
Memory eats about 590M.This was a little scary.
The startup presets are almost default, so they shouldn't consume much memory or CPU, but this is the result.
This is the result of reading the preset "AR A State of Trace" at the top of "Arp" and playing one note (a preset that sounds an arpeggio with one note). (Simultaneous) Number of pronunciations is 1 to 1)
The memory is 700M and the CPU is about 7-9%.
It was talked about on Twitter that it was expensive, but I have the impression that the CPU load is not that high. (Memory eats a lot)
With the Massive X preset "Advanced Optics", the following results give the impression that Massive X has a higher CPU load. (Simultaneous pronunciation 3)
I also took a quick look at Serum, but it seems that the CPU load increases in the order of Serum-> Avenger-> Massive X.
Copy protection for Vengeance Sound VPS Avenger Synth
With the December 2021 update to version 12, CodeMeter protection has changed to keyfile protection.
It's a very nice update with the same usability as serial numbers.
By using a management tool called V-Manager (no installation required), installation and activation can all be done, which has improved considerably.
Please refer to here for details on how to update.
Usability of Vengeance Sound VPS Avenger Synth
GUI resizing
I feel this is a fairly essential feature.
It's nice to be able to make detailed settings in 5% increments.
Oscillator
Since there are many oscillators, it is good to be able to search in an easy-to-understand manner, just like presets.
There is also a preview function that allows you to adjust the tone.
Also, I'm glad that there is a function to enlarge the characters.
I'm glad that the Solo and Mute functions of the oscillator can be done with the touch of a button.
For samplers, one oscillator section can read up to four.
I think it can be used to add accents that cannot be obtained with a synth, rather than seeking a sound that is close to that of a live instrument.
As you can see from the video, it works quite smoothly with a certain amount of CPU.
Modulation
The modulation sources are plentiful and great, but there are so many that it's hard to tell which modulation is assigned to which parameter. (There may be an easy way to find out)
Basically, it seems to be made by judging by color.
If the screen is small, this seems to be quite difficult.
After that, there is Matrix, so it seems that you can check the parameters assigned here.
Modulation As with almost everything, it's small.I get tired of my eyes.
Vengeance Sound VPS Avenger Synth presets
Avenger presets are pretty powerful.
After all, Sequence is super powerful and you can almost make a song with just this.
preset
Choosing a preset feels very good.
It seems that you can smoothly find the tone you need.
ARP
This is also quite powerful.
If you are new to DTM, I would like to say that you should buy Avenger.
You can make more and more riffs with this function alone.
There are even bass, chords and drums.
If you select an ARP preset and attach a drum, you can make that sound in no time.
It's useful when you have a problem with an idea.
Sequence
It can be said to be an evolved version of Arp.
The basic keyboard is split, with rhythm and bass for bass and riffs for treble.
There are bass, drums, and even Fx in addition to the finest ones.
I made a short and simple demo in about 5 minutes.
I just changed the preset from the video above.
Also, the great thing about Avenger is that this drum phrase does not have a loop, but each drum kit has a sequencer inside Avenger, so you can change it freely.
Please watch the video below.
It's ringing on one MIDI note.
Of course, if you want to change it, you can easily change the sequence inside.
If you are new to DTM, first of all, if you know the composition of the sounds used for each genre, you will be able to quickly create songs of the genre you want to make.
I wrote an article about MIDI out of Sequence.
Mixer
It's dangerous to have a mixer installed in a synth.
It seems that you can easily make drum'n'bass and dubstep just by changing the presets.
Extensibility of Vengeance Sound VPS Avenger Synth
official
There is an extended sound source, and it is released quite a lot from the official.
One is 65.00 € (about 9000 yen), which is quite expensive.
(As of December 2022)
However, the contents are different from other preset packs, such as drum kits and drum sequences are included.
Package contents of Trance Invasion
16 new drum kits
16 new drum sequences
52 new multisamples
50 new osc-shapes
10 new wavetables
Plugin Boutique
Recently, PluginBoutique has also started handling it.
Loop Master
Loop MasterThere was also one drum'n'bass expansion.
This is 2185 yen, which is a quarter of the price, and it feels kind to your pocket.
The content is about half, so it may be a good deal.
(However, since it does not contain SEQ, it is not recommended for those aiming for SEQ)
20 multisamples
60 drum samples
10 drum sequences
Vengeance Sound VPS Avenger Synth settings
Whether to change the storage location of the library
Personally very important, VPS Avenger is great to store anywhere.
Change skin
It's not related to the sound, but it feels good to be able to change the skin.
Currently there are only 4 types including the default, but it can be evaluated that the quality is high.
Vintage
Chrono Jade
Cobalt Blue
Correspondence of NKS
Unfortunately the official isNKS extensionDoes not correspond to. (NKS is a Native Instruments standard)
But when it comes to factory presetsFreelance Sound LabsIt is sold for $ 12.99.
The demo version (limited number of presets) can be downloaded, so if you are interested, please try it once.
Summary of Vengeance Sound VPS Avenger Synth
Summarize.
Recommended points
・ Equipped with many trendy sounds
・ Excellent expandability (Expansion exists other than official)
・ Abundant ARP and drum sequences make it easy to make trendy music with this one.
・ Specifications and expandability that satisfy DTM beginners to advanced users
Points that cannot be recommended
・ High memory usage
・ It takes time to understand because it has too many functions.
・ There is little information in Japanese
・ The setting screen for modulation in general is small.
・ Not compatible with NKS (Native Instruments standard)
There are many points that I can't recommend, but I want you to understand the points that I can't recommend before you buy.
To be clear, if you like trendy music and your PC has some high specsIt is a buy.
Core i1-7K 4770GHz uses about 3.5% CPU load and 10G or more of memory to start and play one, so some specs are required. (Especially on a PC with 1GB of memory, I think it's hard to be honest)
After that, people who like synths also buy it.
It's deep enough to play for the time being.
