Introducing TugSpect, which performs effect processing based on 2Rule images.

Today I would like to introduce TugSpect, which performs effect processing based on slightly unusual images.

There was something about generating sound based on an image, but as far as I remember, I didn't know about processing effects.

FL Studio's also "BeepMapA plug-in that generates sound from images is included as standard.

I have also written a simple explanatory article, so please check it out as well.

“MetaSynth'' was famous as a software that turned images into sound.

Since it was only available on Mac, I had a strong desire for it.

It seems like it still exists, but it seems like development has stopped.

It's sad when a software that was all the rage becomes obsolete.

Sound demo

I loaded an appropriate image and tried playing it.

It is turned off at first and then turned on.

It has a Lo-Fi feel, which is interesting.

It also gives the impression of a low bitrate encoder.

Overview

Experimental vst3 allows you to scan any image, from abstract art to your own photos, and use its pixel values to dynamically shape audio and use it as a template to transform sounds. Plugin. You can draw basic shapes such as ellipses, rectangles, and straight lines.Real-time Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) filtering analyzes the input audio and applies spectral processing that reflects the image pixel values:

Drawing, lines, ellipses, rectangles.
Rotate, zoom in/zoom out, left and right.
Image contrast, black and white
same period.

Some Mac users say that Ableton and similar DAWs do not recognize 2RuleSynth due to security issues with Catalina (also Big Sure and Monterey). DAW users (including Ableton) can bypass the security step if they trust me, the developer.

a) Before copying TugMultiEffect to vst3 folder, open Ableton and perform “Plugin Rescan”.

b) After rescanning, copy TugMultiEffect to the corresponding vst3 folder.

c) Open a terminal (MAC) window, navigate to vst3 folder, type “sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine TugMultiEffect.vst3” and enter. (You may be asked for the password for the macos screen)

d) Re-scan Ableton again.

I did all the steps in order and it worked.

If you have any problems, please contact tugrulvega@gmail.com.

Summary

This is an effect with a lot of possibilities.

It's applied in a different way than a normal filter, and if you automate it, you'll be able to enjoy even more changes in the sound.
