Recommended for those who want to copy by ear.

If you just want to know the root note, you can extract just the chord progression and use it.

I used to highly recommend de Coda,If the loop is within 10 secondsThere is a free plugin, Samplab, so we recommend that you try it first.

Short with Samplab!I want to copy my ears on a song-by-song basis! For those who say, de Coda is recommended. (10 seconds is really short, isn't it?)

And if you record the sound of Youtube using the following method and load it into deCoda, you can analyze the key and chord progression.

It's super convenient for me to add my own bass to a cool guitar loop that I actually use quite a bit. (Even if the key is the same, it is convenient when matching the root or inserting the same chord sound)

The caveat is that you have to type in MIDI yourself.
(Unfortunately, it cannot be fully automated to MIDI ...)

It's also a standalone app, not a plugin.

It analyzes it, so it feels like typing MIDI while looking at the image.

You can use this to imitate the chord progression of the drop part of your favorite artist, or to MIDIize the loop sample. (With manual work)

Even if you know the chord progression, it makes a big difference if the voicing is different, so this tool is good.

To be clear, editing is a little frustrating, but I can't copy by ear, so it's quite convenient.

Personally, I think it's better to get the chord progression from the sample and reconstruct it rather than from the song.

Sound demo

I tried to extract the chord progression from the guitar riff.

If you export the MIDI of the above video and edit it a little, it will be as follows.
The BPM doesn't match well because it's a bug, so I'm fixing it manually. (It's not a big deal, though)

For example, the following is the state where Cymatics's sample is read and typed in.

Below is Am-FCG with the same chord progression.

The first half is just the above chord progression, and the second half is the chord progression extracted using deCoda.

I think the sound is completely different depending on the voicing.

If you know not only the chord name but also the voicing, the quality will go up one step.
