The unique 'Spinal Saw' oscillator allows up to 1 detuned sawtooth waves in one oscillator. BioTek has four oscillators per voice, so there are a total of 11 sawtooths in one sound layer, and unlimited sound layers in one patch.Perfect for creating thick leads, huge pads, and rumbling synth basses.

About sound
Not all instruments are the same! BioTek's codebase was expertly crafted by industry veteran Wolfram Franke. Wolfram Franke has honed his craft by designing numerous Waldorf Music instruments, respected for their exceptional depth of sound.Led by Tao Yamada and recently joined by electronic experimental guru Richard Devine, the factory patch list has expanded to over 500 creative sound experiments.
Biotek sample library
To separate BioTek from the status quo, an entirely new collection of audio samples was needed.Introducing composer and engineer Mike Wall.
BioTek's natural and environmental sounds are samples from Mike's 20-year collection of field recordings in Washington, Oregon, California, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and Hawaii.For industrial sounds, Mike recorded on location at several manufacturing facilities near Seattle.The microphones achieved extremely high resolution and low noise by utilizing a variety of stereo microphones, hydrophone rigs, and digital recorders customized for the intense on-site environment.The samples were carefully looped and mastered for Acktion Engine™.
