X-Comp is a sophisticated and highly versatile stereo compressor that provides truly professional features, results and interfaces in a large amount of freeware and bundled plug-ins. The audio performance, specifications, analytical tools, and depth of control provided by X-Comp are exemplary.
X-Comp offers mastering-grade audio fidelity and a distinctive analog feel, injecting raw energy and power comparable to the legendary SSL Listen Mic Compressor from "invisible" delicate dynamic control in mastering. It can be used for all purposes, including the dramatic "brick wall" effect.
Between these two extremes, the X-Comp can reproduce the characteristics of a wide range of modern and classic vintage compressors, including the popular OPTO, FET and Vari Mu types. At X-Comp, SSL not only models a specific compressor, but also provides a set of features and controls that allow emulation of a wide range of compressor designs.
